Unlike most of my peers I did not actually mind going to the enrichment workshop. I was just wary that I might forget the day I had to go. Overall it was not a bad experience as the workshop re-established something that I had come to experience on my own. Prior to entering college, during my junior year of high school I went on a volunteer trip to New Orleans with the organization Habitat for Humanity. At the time my brother was not supportive of what I was doing because he saw it as “working for no pay”, so I had my doubts. Through this presentation I was able to reaffirm that not only did I help the people of New Orleans in their rebuilding process but that the experience was beneficial to me as well. And that as Dr. Stephen Post states ” It’s good to be good”. Overall I would say it was a bit inspirational, not to the point where I will be volunteering every weekend but once in a while I will remember the message Dr. Stephen Post delivered and I will try to apply it in some form to my everyday life.
