The images that i have chose to describe who i am and what i like all have to with either cars or computers, but that is not all they are meant to represent. Yes, my favorite hobbies have to do with computers and cars, but there is a good reason that feel that these are the things that describe who i am. Looking at all the images you can see that they all have to do with working with your hands, creating something of your own, and having something unique that nobody else has. When i was working on my computer the other day, putting my own touches on it, i was able to step back and admire and be proud of my workmanship and the fact that it was all done with my own two hands. the same can be said about my car. I love doing my own thing to it, making  it into something unique and something that nobody else has. I hate having that feeling while driving down the round that you’re just like that other person that has the same car as you. I love to stand out from the crowed, showing that i have my own imagination and that i am capable of more. I guess all this tells you that i am the type of person to break the mold and go my own way and peruse my own interest. When people come into my room the first thing they see is a bright complicated looking machine that looks like something they have never seen before and love when they ask me “is that a computer?” and “did you make that yourself?”. Those questions put a smile on my face because it makes me look like a genius in their eyes, but in fact i know that it wasn’t as hard as they think it was. Most people don’t give a second glance at something that seems too complicated, i was always the opposite of that, always wanting to know how the seemingly complicated stuff worked.   When i started i loved how everything quickly became simple and understandable. i loved the fact that i something so complicated to others was simple for me.  I later began to put my own creativity into my computers, creating more complex ones over and over. I sometimes spent hours trying to get everything right and reading about ever last piece of tech news i can find. i don’t care if people think it’s “nerdy”,  just because they don’t understand it doesn’t mean it is bad. My passion for cars has been in me since i was a little kid, always playing with my toy cars or reading car magazines. Now that i finally have my own car i am free to do anything that i want to it. Doing all the work on my car, just like on my computer, gives me a sense of accomplishment that i love. That is who i am, someone who loves their own handiwork

Who I am:

Who am I? I’m really just a simple girl, there’s nothing I feel really stands out about me. That’s probably why I find it so painful to describe myself–but I’ll do my best, yes? My name is Jasmine Constantino, and I’m an 18 year old girl. I live in Yonkers, NY with my mother, father, and brother. I’ve had some difficulties in my life, but overall, I feel very happy and privileged. I don’t get upset very easily at all, and many of my close friends wonder if I even have the ability to get mad. Overall, at surface value, I’m just a nice and simple person who’s trying to live their life. I can’t really fluff this up anymore since I don’t really notice much about myself, but a few more things about me that give shallow insight into who I ‘am’ are:

I love animals so much. Just so incredibly much, I always have. Right now I have 5 pets: a dachshund, a sun conure (as shown), two parakeets, and a fish. Soon I’ll be adopting an albino axolotl (as shown). I just love how there are so many different kinds of animals, I love seeing an animal I’ve never seen before. I want to see all the animals.

I love food, or more specifically, baked treats. Baking and experimenting and seeing what happens is one of my hobbies. I love reading recipes, and I just enjoy the variety of things one can make with the right ingredients. I want to try all different kinds of baked goods and snacks, from all across the world, not just your average cookie (even though I love them so).

I’m the type of person that can get along with most people once I’m comfortable enough. I can get along with people, but it takes a lot for me to get attached to someone, and once I do, I’m attached. Pictured is me and one of my best friends, who I love very much. I treasure my friends and family very much so.

I don’t want to be stuck in one place all my life. I want to travel and experience what the world has to offer. It’s really a dream of mine one day, when people ask me, “Oh, what countries have you visited?” to be able to say, “All of them.”

I used to be part of an advanced art class in highschool, called ‘Art Academy’, and I would compete in competitions. I even managed to win first place in some. When I was little, I wanted to be an artist–if I only had myself to worry about, I wouldn’t care if I had to live in a box, as long as I got to do something I love. But I want to be able to support my family and pay back my parents, so I gave it up in order to pursue something more practical–business. I’m planning on majoring in international marketing.

I’m perpetually tired, and as a result, I love sleeping. In highschool, I always got in trouble for falling asleep in class. I’ve fallen asleep standing up, in a tree, on a boat. There’s a lot of embarrassing pictures of me sleeping weirdly that I could have shared, but here’s a pretty bed instead.

This is who I am

Describing who I am through music has proved to be more difficult than I initially thought. That being said I do feel that these songs help in describing a part of who I am.

My name is Amy Campos and I am the youngest in my family of 5. I am Mexican. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister and I am the youngest.  As the youngest I feel a bit excluded from memories that they share from before I was born but I love the sense of comfort I get from knowing that my family will always be there to protect me. I love cats and my ultimate wish is to get to travel to Japan.

Currently I live near Chinatown however this wasn’t always the case. From when I was born to about the age of 6 I lived in Queens. Then when I was 6 my family and I moved to Brooklyn and that’s where I lived out most of my childhood and the beginning of my teenage years. In the spring semester of 9th grade is when we finally moved to the house I live in now. I didn’t really like moving that many times but it has given me an interesting perspective of New York and 3 of its boroughs. Queens was the quietest, Brooklyn was convenient, and so far our neighbors in Manhattan have been the friendliest.

In terms of the music that I chose for the playlist it’s a mixture of who I am and what I like. I like bands such as Simple Plan but I am also a fan of Japanese music. The music that I chose reflects that I am in a period of transition, which makes sense since I am transitioning into a new school environment and adulthood. I value making the most of everyday even if I have yet to learn how to do that exactly. And I love listening to pure instrumental music because I feel like lyrics distract me from concentrating on music. I am a mix of contradictions because I want to be treated like an adult but I don’t want to let go of my youth. In short it’s complicated.

Overall this assignment has shown me that looking inward is way harder than looking outward. Its easy to see other people but its hard to look at yourself. Oh well I did my best so I have no regrets.

-Amy Campos

Who am I?

Well here is my life’s story. I was born in the Dominican Republic, which was a fun time from what  I can remember, but had to move here due to my parents loosing their jobs. I’vs always wanted to live in New York, ever since we visited my mom’s side of the family every year, so it felt kinda of awesome moving there. Here in the Bronx I developed a close group of friends, we’ve helped each other throughout the years and experienced many events. So what would they tell you about me? I have an introverted personality, but I still like to try new things. I am well rounded and like a variety of different things from anime to formula 1.  Oh, and i also like to sleep a lot. What motivates me is my goal to become either a surgeon or oncologist and start my own clinic.  I want to get a degree in finance because it can hopefully help me run the business side of operating a clinic. The reason for this goal is fairly simple, I just want to help as many people as possible before i drop dead. And hopefully the songs describe the fire that keeps the goal going.

Who am I?  Although this seems like a simple question, once you ask yourself this question you find that it is the complete opposite.  I am a son, a brother a nephew, a cousin, a grandson and so on.  I live with both of my parents and I have a sister who is one year older than me.  I have a nine year old dog who greets me at the door everyday and licks me whenever he has the opportunity.  I have lived in Brooklyn my entire life and wouldn’t be upset if I lived here my entire life.

The person I am today, is a completely different person than I was years ago and I am sure I will be different in the future.  This is because the person you are varies depending on your life experiences, your relationships, your attitude and much more.  For example, any experiences you have will either have a positive or negative affect on your character, which will result in adjusting who you are even if it is in the slightest bit.  Anyway, the person I am today is a current student who is interested in business.  I am also a male with ancestors coming from England, Russia, Ireland, and Poland.  In this sense I am a very diverse person which explains why my playlist is filled with all different genres of music.  In addition, I am half jewish and half catholic, although I am not really religious.  I enjoy playing basketball and I fence twice a week.  I also collect crystals and like to play words with friends when I get the chance.

Even though knowing what someone likes gives you a decent idea of who that person is, a complete description isn’t complete without know also what they dislike.  On that note, I do not like when it rains and I hate when it gets above ninety-five degrees.  I hate broccoli unless it comes with the general tso from the Chinese restaurant.  I also hate reading books that do not interest me at all.  These are a couple of my many hatreds.

In conclusion, I feel like I’m writing a description of myself for a dating website or something, but it is a good way to let people know a little more about you I guess.  I forgot to mention that my name is Sam Aidan Dougherty-Messing, which some can argue describes someone the best depending on their reputation.  In less than five hundred words I tried to describe myself and I don’t think I did that well but its getting late so this will have to do since I have an essay to write tomorrow.

Peace,

Sam

Who am I?

These pictures describe who I am as a person and where I am from.

I am the youngest of 3 kids, which has had a big impact on my life. I’ve always been my parents little girl, and I still am.

I have a very close relationship with my family, but especially with my father. He is incredibly positive and a big support. He is always there if there is anything. My whole family is incredibly supportive of me, which I don’t appreciate enough unfortunately.

The «person» I miss the most, is my dog. She is 13 years old, so I’ve had her since I was 6 years old – so basically my whole life. She means everything to me, and I love her to death.

I am from Norway, which I think most you know by now. Norway is a beautiful country, but I wanted to experience a new place, and I have always wanted to go to New York.

My friends are also extremely important to me. I love being surrounded by fun, loving, caring and nice people – which is bascially how I would describe my friends. The first picture is from the «Russ» celebration we have back home the last month of our senior year – and it was the best month of my life. It is a huge thing where I am from, and has really become a part of our culture. I have a lot of friends, whom I love and love being surrounded by. I miss all of them so much, and I can’t wait to see them again.

I am the sum total of my life experiences and influences. From my father, I have been instilled with a practicality and an analytical mind; this explains why I do not cry while watching ‘The Notebook.’ Consequently, helping my father though his transplant surgery has created a part in me that has learned to care for other people, to value life and realize how ephemeral it truly is. From my mother, I received the go-ahead to ‘dream’ and explore all possibilities as if life has no parameters or boundaries; these were the foundations that would anchor me, as the other elements of my surroundings and circumstances would change, evolve and mold. I have also played for D1 soccer teams since I was 13. I believe that learning to play sports, hone my skills and work with a team has helped to bring out a side in me that is both competitive and supportive. From each of life’s little daily experiences there came another stroke of the brush that goes into making the little pieces that make the whole of who I am.

My name is Shaun I had a crazy life, if you weren’t able to tell from the pictures. Each picture represents me in a whole different light which I will shortly describe. I grew up on long Island in a small affluent community. I went to high school at Great Neck South High where of course I made my close friends which I miss. I also play on the Baruch mens soccer team which keeps me busy.  I will now describe some of the pictures I have posted:

The first picture in my slideshow was when i was with all my friends in the Hamptons. Im with a good friend of mine yoni, and were playing a game called water pong.

In the third picture I am in the Bahamas for spring break with all of my friends. That was probably the best week I had ever had.

The fourth picture is from when i was only 5 years old.  I was in israel a place I truly love. Both my parents were born there so I often visit every summer.

The eight picture is a picture of me on my  friends yacht drinking a nice refreshing root beer. It was a great day on the water and I will never forget that moment. You rarely get the time to spend quality time with your family on a boat.

The 6th picture is at my brothers graduation. It was a cool experience and I was so proud of him. He graduated as student of the year, from the University of Southern California.

To sum it all up, I love having people around me. I am very close with my friends and family, and I cherish experiences because they stick with you forever.

Something About Me

Baruch Freshmen Seminar

These pictures can give you a pretty good idea about me, but not the whole picture of who I am or would like to be in life. The most important thing in my life is my family. That is the reason why it’s the first two pictures shown in the Power Point presentation. Those are my two parents that have been with me and through everything from day one. They support me whenever I need support and help me whenever they can. They have done so much for me throughout my whole life. My parents had a big role on the young man I have become today, and I can’t thank them enough. They used to live in Ecuador, but moved to New York so I could have a better education and a better life. Family is the one thing that will never go away.
The third picture on the slideshow is a picture from my high school graduation with my four best friends. I don’t like to think of them as just friends; they are more like brothers to me. I have been best friends with two of them since I was three years old, and we still have a strong relationship. I believe that friends were created so you can have them as your second family. These guys have been there for me. We go out, have fun, do things we aren’t supposed to be doing, play soccer, play video games and just create good memories to tell our children when we’re older.
The fourth picture is a picture of my friends from Ecuador and I hanging out at some bar in Ecuador. I mostly put this picture up because it was taken in Ecuador. I love that country so much even though I only lived there for a little part of my life, and only get to go for the whole summer. I can’t imagine a summer without going, because that has never happened yet. I don’t want that to change. The fifth picture is also in Ecuador at a soccer game with a Colombian girl.
The sixth picture in the Power Point is of me sleeping on the floor. I can’t explain to you how much I love to sleep. Sleeping is probably one of my favorite things to do, and I haven’t been able to do much of that because of school recently. I could go to sleep pretty much anywhere; on the floor, the bus, the train, an airplane, pretty much anywhere.
The last two pictures on the slideshow are a picture of this year’s Baruch’s men’s soccer team which I am in ass a goalkeeper, and the other one is a picture of me when I used to play in high school as a goalie.
I think my classmates see me as a person who cares a lot his family and friends, is proud of being Ecuadorian, loves Hispanic girls, also an easy going guy who likes to playing as a goalkeeper in soccer.
