Dear Professor Dasdfoni,

I’m sorry to say but I will not be able to attend tomorrow’s class. Over the weekend I developed a bad headache that I thought was nothing, but it got worst yesterday after I came home from volunteering for New York Cares. I think it was from being around the smell of compost for several hours. I’m not sure if what I had grew into a migraine or not, but hopefully rest will make it go away, if not I will see a doctor tomorrow.
Thanks and again my apologies,

Subject Line: ENG2150: Clarification on the Homework Needed

Message:

Dear Professor Smith,

This is Jasmine Constantino from your 9:15 AM ENG 2150 Class. I need some clarification regarding the assignment that you gave us, in which we must compare and contrast different elements used in a story. Do you want us to analyze the elements used in one story, or did you want us to take different elements used in multiple stories? I understand the rest of the assignment, clarity on this specific part of the assignment would be very helpful for me. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and answer my question, I greatly appreciate your help.

Sincerely,

Jasmine Constantino

Dear Professor Cumberbatch,

I’m a student in your English 2100 Tues/Thurs class and I was unable to attend your midterm on October 24th because of illness. I had the flu and I was bedridden all week because of it. I hope we can reschedule the test or find a way to make up the grade for it. I would also like to request any review sheet you have given to the class prior to the test.

Sincerely,

English 2150 Midterm

Dear Professor Maceira,

I am a student in your English 2150 class that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays. I am emailing you to inform you that due to a stomach virus I was not able to show up and take the midterm exam on October 16. Would it be possible for me to take the exam on another day? If not, is it possible for me to do another assignment to replace the grade of the midterm? I humbly await your reply and I thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Dear Professor,
Due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to attend class all of last week. I came down with a terrible case of bronchitis and spent two weeks in a hospital. Because I missed so many of the assignments I wanted to ask if I could spend this week completing them so that I could give them in and get the credit for them, since I couldn’t do anything about my terrible infection. I do not want to go down a grade because of something I could not control, and I will make sure the assignments are the best that they can be.

Best Regards,

Dear Professor Williams,
I am in your Math 2300 class, meeting Mondays and Thursday from 9:00am to 10:15am. This email is regarding the B- I received in this class. I believe I should have received an A. I always came to class on time and prepared. Also I completed every assignment and took every test to the best of my ability. I hope you will reconsider my grade.

Dear Professor Kant,

I am currently in your Monday/Tuesday 9:00am-11:00am classes. Let me premise my email by saying that I enjoyed your class immensely and I look forward to taking your AC2202 class in the future. I am emailing you regarding my B- grade I received in your class. After carefully reading your syllabus and reviewing my grades I deduced that my grade in your class should be an A-. I was punctual, respectful, and participatory. I hope that you understand my concern. Thank You.

Dear Professor Smith,

I am in your ENG 2200 class that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 10:45 am. I am having difficulty with one of the papers that you assigned. After rereading the instructions and requirements for the paper, I am still confused on what I should write my paper on. Will you please explain the requirements of the paper for me again? Sorry for the inconvenience. I am looking forward to your reply.  Thank you for your time.

Dear Ms. Jones,

I received a B- on my most recent English paper and I believe that I wrote an A paper. I spent so many hours and days researching and planning out my paper. I didn’t start the actual writing of my paper until I had a whole outline planned out and many resources backing up my paper. It then still took me a few days to even get my paper written down. I truly believe that it was an excellent paper, which had many arguments and sources backing it up. I would like to go over my paper with you so that I can see where my mistakes are and see if we can boost up my grade. Please let me know when you are available.

Thank you,
