I went to the Enrichment Workshop: Writing Winning Resumes which took place on December 4th from 2:30-4 PM. It was a great experience to learn how to really write a resume. I was taught how to by my economics teacher in High School but she never went into specific details and didn’t check mine so I didn’t know if it was okay or not. The workshop has taught me everything that she didn’t. For example, I did not know that you shouldn’t include your GPA after having a few years of work experience. I also did not know that I could include volunteer work because my teacher only told me to put work experience that was relative. Overall, the lady speaking was very nice and clear about everything although the presentation was a bit dull, there can’t really be a better way to present writing resumes in a fun way.

First Semester
My first semester here at Baruch has been great. I’ve met a lot of new people and accomplished things that I never thought I could. Although I think my grades can be ten times better, I don’t think this semester was a waste at all. It has taught me that college is not just books and with Baruch being a commuter college, it hold more than I expected. I’ve developed close friendships with some of my friends that have the same block as me and I really want to thank them because without them classes would be so boring and I’d have no one to complain about them to. I hope I see them in the Spring and I hope I do better in my second because I haven’t been up to par with my grades this Fall.

Baruch first semester
Coming into Baruch I thought I was going to breeze through my classes as if this were still high school. This was not the case. Immediately I found that college was very different. Firstly, I had to study, and the teachers were not nearly as forgiving on the tests. My political science class for example is purely a midterm and final as your grade. There is no homework or additional tests. This meant that the whole of our grade I based on us doing well on both tests, initially this was hard as the teacher was quite boring at the start of the semester. My art class, as many others may say, was to an extent difficult. The memorization I think was the biggest thing to me. She expects students to know many things about many art items. This was the horrible in the beginning of the year, but later I got used to it and could deal with her tests. So I guess my whole experience so far I’d give 3.5 star out of 5. It was difficult to start because I didn’t really come in with the “college mentality” but I got used to it towards the end.. or I think I did. Either way i’ll find out when I get my grades. Happy Finals Week 😀
My Experience at Baruch
The first word that comes to my mind to describe my experience at Baruch is exhaustion.
Only reason for this exhaustion is because of the commute. It takes me about an hour and
twenty minutes to get to Baruch from my house which forces me to wake up much earlier
than the actual class time. Going back home at rush hour is just as annoying. The difficulty
level of the works has increased but I like the freedom of being a college student. The
professors do not really care for you or intervene with you which puts more responsibility
on you. Every step you take and every choice you make are all put up against you. If
something goes wrong, you can’t blame it on anyone else but yourself. I slowly got used to
the school. I think I might start enjoying it.

My Experience at Baruch College
At Baruch I realized that nothing is given to you, its not like high school where you have people looking over your shoulder and telling you what to do. If you’re late turn in on an assignment you make sure you remember what that assignment is. The freedom of college is unimaginable compared to high school, the things we are able to do. What I’ma most miss from Baruch when i transfer is the library. Where i actually spend most of my days, if its not studying then its just bonding time with new friends I’ve meet. This semester was a fun ride and Baruch isn’t as bad I thought it was going to be.
Experience at Baruch

At first I thought it was easy and then I got a kick in my a** when I got a few grades. Then the wavy nature of stress came along. Week of stress, week of coasting and back and forth. Then my body gave up on me too and said “Heh, 8:15 class isn’t important, I will ignore the alarm”. Apparently that’s been true for the past month or so. So to describe my experience briefly, I will use two words, stress and lateness.
Sorry this one is late too. I think, it’s late at any rate.
My Baruch experience

The beginning of the semester was easy as pie. But as you can tell, as we near finals week I’m beginning to lose track of some of my assignments. So this gif is representative of my grades. Started of strong, finished less strong. I now know what needs to be done for next semester and I’ve learned a very valuable lesson.

Experience at Baruch
I didn’t think the first semester of college would be over so quickly. Compared to high school, it goes by so quickly. We also get much more freedom in college (not having to ask to go to the bathroom..) but for me, those are pretty much the only good things about college. There’s so much stress to deal with and for most assignments, I’ve been procrastinating until the very last possible moment . People say that your college years will be the best years of your life, but I just don’t see it happening for me, at least not anytime soon.
Roel M: my experience at baruch so far
So far, Baruch has been a new, exciting experience for me. I learned quite a few more things since coming into Baruch which include time management and studying techniques. It wasn’t as hard as i thought it would be although i did slack a bit and did not try my best. Overall it was a fun experience for me that passed by very quickly. I hope the rest of my years at Baruch pass by as fast as this one.
