My First Semester in Baruch – Parneet Kaur

This picture describes my first semester at Baruch because college is a place where you find who you are as an individual instead of blending in with the crowd. I’m obviously not used to going to an institution consisting of so many students so becoming my own person will take time and it will be a roller coaster of highs and lows. Right now, my journey to becoming an individual has only begun so I am trying to fit in with everyone else and becoming comfortable before I branch out and become my own person. Being a freshman, I am in the same boat as my peers and we’re just all trying to find ourselves and become the person we’re meant to be. I wouldn’t say that I’m comfortable with the whole college experience just yet because I’m not used to the long commute or the very high standards of some of the professors but this is a long progress that I can’t wait to experience on my own. I have a lot of support from my family and friends so I know I’m not alone in this journey. Knowing that I have people by my side through this is very comforting and allows this experience to be easier and more fun. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.

Enrichment Workshop – Parneet Kaur

I was definitely intrigued by all the pictures in the museum though I got tired of hearing the lady speak about every tiny detail of the pictures. Her voice made the experience boring and she didn’t appear to be enthusiastic when talking about the picture so that made the workshop a bit dull. I feel like I have seen a lot of those pictures before, or similar ones to those. All in all, I enjoyed looking at the pictures and I did learn a bit about what was happening in the pictures and why the photographer would want to capture that moment.

Homework Problem – Parneet Kaur

Dear Ms. Trapani,

I am emailing you to ask for assistance in a math problem that is due on Tuesday. I am having difficulty with problem number 7 and can’t seem to find the solution. I have checked all my resources (textbook and internet) and can’t find a lead to help me in solving this problem. Can you please respond back or tell me when I can come see you for help? Thank you in advance!

My Slideshow – Parneet Kaur

http://www.kizoa.com/slideshow/d5857751k9343674o1/this-is-who-i-am

-This slideshow showcases who I am… well as much as one can show in a matter of eight slides. I am very family oriented and for me, family is over everything. My mother is my rock and my go to person for any worries, my dad is my support system, my brother is the jokester and brings all the fun, and my sister is my role model; the type of person I hope to become one day.
-The next thing important in my life is my friends. These 5 girls mean everything to me and have made me the person I am today; I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
-Next is desserts.. or just food in general. I am in love with sweet and chocolatey things. I eat all the time, no matter what mood I am and I am very thankful for my fast metabolism for without it, I would probably resemble a hippopotamus.
-The type of music I listen to varies from One Direction to Paramore and Green Day. I love going to underground shows for bands that are not that well known like All Time Low, Pierce the Veil and Sleeping With Sirens. As everyone else does, I listen to different music depending on what mood I am in.
-I absolutely live for shopping and carry my debit card everywhere with me. This is bad because I do not know the value of money and spend it on everything and anything I like.
-As many American girls are obsessed with Hollywood, I am obsessed with Bollywood. Bollywood is like the “Hollywood” of India and I hope to work in it one day. I love the movies, soap operas, music, dances, food and clothing that goes along with the Indian culture.
-Something I always have in my bag is my Nook. I enjoy reading because it lets me escape into a whole new world for a few hours. Some of my favorite books are The Kite Runner, The Great Gatsby, the entire Harry Potter and Hunger Games series, and any romance books.
-Kids have been a big part of my life because I have been working/volunteering at my elementary school since the 6th grade. Around these kids, I become a kid myself and forget all the stress I have and focus on just having a good time. Walking in and being swarmed by hugs and kisses by a group of kids everyday just warms my heart.
