I came to Baruch college with high hopes and imagined that as it was my freshman year, I would have an easy work load and weekends filled with endless fun and parries. I joined NABA, (the National Association of Black Accountants) and the (Caribbean Student Association) with those expectations. But it is impossible to be a great student and have a very active social life, one which becomes almost extinct when finals rolls around.

Ahh, finals. The test itself is almost as terrifying as your realization of how unprepared you feel for it. I mean, you’ve been in class, gotten good grades on test but are you really prepared to deal with everything you’ve learned since August. Being at Baruch has taught me how to actual study and although sometimes I felt like

If I pushed through, and really committed to my studies, it payed off. So hopefully, although much more challenging, the same concept will work for THE FINALS week. Being at Baruch has taught me to treasure my weekend life of dance school and church because besides school its all I have left. However, It will all be worth it

I have had a really enjoyable first semester. I got involved with the Women in Business club here at Baruch, and it has seriously been one of the best decisions I have made. I have met so many people both in WIB and in other clubs who are so open and forthcoming with advice. They answer my “freshman” questions without making me feel silly. I really like how you can find your own niche here because there are so many people. I love planning events and meeting new people and at Baruch there are endless amounts of opportunities to do both!

My first three months at Baruch have been interesting. I’ve met some interesting people and had great memories. My classes have been polar opposites. Some are a breeze and others are rigorous. The school is definably a commuter school and it can have a sense of urgency at times. People seem to use Baruch as a stepping stone in their life. They take classes around their work schedule and try to further themselves in their worlds. This process lacks a sense of community but it shows that most of the students are ambitious and want what’s best for them. I haven’t seen the competitive atmosphere that is supposed to roam the halls because everyone is pretty friendly. My biggest qualm about the school is that it feels like there are virtually no windows. All of my classes are boxed in and its depressing not seeing the sun all day. All in all, Baruch is a great school full of great people. New-Monster-Energy-Zero-Ultra-Drink

I was very excited for the semester to start because I would meet new people and learn of new cultures each and every day. Of course, I still look forward to this because I am still meeting new people and building relationships that will lead to partnerships in the near future.

This semester has been quite interesting for me. I have slowly gone to sleep later and later which of course means less and less sleep for me. This picture captures it all. My one cry is “GOD I NEED TO SLEEP”!

Mishkin Gallery Response

The enrichment workshop we attended was to the Mishkin Gallery. The Gallery was showing Theresa Bernstein: A Century in Art. We gradually examined some of the pieces she had done and how much detail she put into really telling a story-her story. It resonated with me because it just inspires me to live my life so that the legacy I leave behind can be admired, rather than frowned upon.

College LifeThis semester flew by. Im having a hard time finding the motivation to do well. Im not a big fan of Baruch and cant wait to graduate. Im not sure what I expected from college but I was pretty disappointed. But anyway Im liking these long breaks in between and the three day weekends, sure helps.

When I started this semester I was really excited. But I didn’t expect how much work it would be. In this GIF the cat represents college and the owl is me. Basically college was a slap in the face. After coming here from high school it was nothing like I imagined and it only got harder from there. Hopefully this next semester will be a little easier.

One thing I have mastered is waking up just so i have enough time to get to class. I make sure to match and dress warm enough for the cold new york city breeze but get out quick within 15 minutes. I get a little more sleep in the morning, but just have to be prepared the night before. I go to bed late and spring out of bed and into Baruch.

Mishkin Gallery

I really enjoyed the art gallery we went to. It was very exciting learning about Theresa Bernstein’s life and her work and how she expressed her self through painting. Each picture described different points in her life and how she got through her struggles. I loved the painting of her holding her child. I thought this painting described how because she lost her child it showed the sorrow and grief she had for her lost child. I also liked how she painted a picture of her husband to show how much she loved him. It was fun to go through her lifetime just by looking at her artwork. It really shows how these expressions of art can last a long time and is perceived differently. I would love to go back and see more galleries.

breaking bad pizz

So basically i eat too much pizza. Since coming to Baruch i have eaten pizza every day of the week for every meal. Its just too easy, pizza is down the block or down the next block. In addition, breaking bad, it ended during school so yeah. Pretty much i love pizza and breaking bad. Baruch is my perfect fit and so is pizza. Thank you
