Crash into me- Dave Matthews Band

Summertime- Kenny Chesney

My Kinda Party- Jason Aldean

Business- Eminem

Piano Man- Billy Joel

Mud On The Tires- Brad Paisley

Power Trip- J. Cole

I Want Crazy- Hunter Hayes

Country girl shake it for me- Luke Bryan

These songs accurately describe my life. This playlist has everything from country to rap, which happen to be my two favorite genres. I only chose one Dave Matthews Band song even though they are my favorite band. After coming from a hometown where Billy Joel lives and wrote a song about, i had to choose Piano Man. And lastly the country music, many from around here do not like country, i’m one of those who do. When i’m home alone I blast country music and jam out.

1-Chaining day – J.Cole

2- Radioactive- Imagine Dragons

3- Spanish Fly- Aventura

4- Mirrors- Justin Timberlake

5- Our Love – The Outfield

6- Suit and Tie- Justin Timberlake

7- Shake Senora – Pitbull

8- Someone Like You (bachata)- Adele

9- Man in the mirror- Michael Jackson

10- Ill follow you into the dark – Death Cab For Cutie

All of these songs in the above playlists resonate within me and every one of them has a different meaning to me. “Chaining Day” by J. Cole was the song that I was listening to on my first day at Baruch as I was running up the stairs to class. The lyrics mirrored my experience because as he was talking about his time at college I was starting mine. This leads to my connection to “Suit and Tie”. After college I plan on getting on “my suit and tie flow” in an office somewhere in the city. The songs that speak to my personality would be “Someone Like You (bachata)” because I think everything is better with a little Spanish influence. Shake Senora is a new twist on a famous song from Beetle Juice and it was my favorite movie growing up. My culture is important to me and is reflected in a song like Spanish fly. It is a perfect mix of Spanish beat with English singers Wyclef Jean and Ludacris. Essentially “Spanish Fly” mixture of cultures is exactly me. A Puerto Rican kid with an American Influence. The song “Man in the Mirror” really helps me with the transitional period I am facing right now. It feels like sometimes I don’t know who the man is staring back at me, but it is essential to turning into whoever I want to be. “I’ll Follow You Into The Dark” reflect that I will truly do anything for anyone that I care about because that just what I was raised to do. In a less serious manner, “Radio Active” is a song that gets me pumped either at the gym or on the field. “Mirrors” by Justin Timberlake, just a great song to bump to on the train. “Our Love” by the Outfield is played too often at Citi Field and it gets stuck in your head. These songs are the most played on my phone and really represent who I am.

She is me – Erchelle :)

How do these pictures describe me? Well for one I love to represent my Caribbean heritage because it has greatly influenced me in how I eat, talk, act, and socialize. I love to talk in patois when I am at home or around many of my Caribbean friends. Furthermore, I simply like to let loose and have fun which would explain the picture of the beach that is actually in Jamaica. Of course, there are beaches in New York but there is nothing like clean blue water where you can actually see what you are stepping in.

I also am a huge fan of animals but dogs and horses in particular. I love to go horseback riding and this is something that I do with my uncle and my brother to “bond”. But even more so, I am a nature type of girl so if someone was going camping I would go but only if it was “contemporary camping”, where there are cabins and some sort of bathrooms and showers available. When my family and I are going out for a drive I like to feel the wind on my face instead of the ac but if it is really hot then I may go with ac. To some it may disgust them to be near farm animals because of the smell but oddly enough, I like it.

What else is there to say? Well I really hold family dear to my heart because if no one else is going to help me in time of struggle,I know I can always count on my family to be there for me.

Quite frankly I love the food they cook as well! I cannot be explained in just 8 pictures but I certainly tried…

Hehe… A Brief Look into Nency’s Life

I’m not psychic so I don’t know what my classmates think of me, but here are some pictures that represent who I am to some of my closest friends.

The first picture was taken last year at six flags. I love spending time at amusement parks with a group of friends. I use to be terrified of roller coasters because I don’t like the feeling of dropping from hundreds of feet in the air. After making several trips to the amusement parks, I think I have overcome my fear of roller coasters. Although, I’m still a little anxious about getting on the rides, I find roller coasters to be thrilling.

The second picture is a photo of Battery Park. I love to hang out with my friends at Battery Park. On nice days, we just sit or lay on the grass and talk. When we are with a larger group of friends, we usually run around or play ball.

The third image of nail polish shows my obsession with nail polish and nail art design. In my spare time, I will go online and search for nail tutorials to learn how to do certain designs. I have bad nails so a lot of times I marvel other girls’ nail designs.

Gossip Girl is my favorite teen drama television series of all time. I have watched every single episode in all six seasons, and some of the really good episodes I watched twice. I was so upset when the series ended in 2012. I love this show because it follows these “crème de la crème” New York students from high school to college. The show was scandalous, fun, and very glamorous.

The next image is a picture of stylish shoes. I don’t own many pairs of shoes, but I would love to when I’m making six digit figures. Stylish and comfortable shoes are important to women because these shoes help us get to the places we want to the go.

The cute maltese is Sasha. She is a very energetic dog that loves to eat. We can’t leave cake or bread in the open because she would eat it all. She use to live with us but because our new building is strict with pet regulations, she is now living with a relative.

I am a Capricorn. I was reading my horoscope and I found it to be quite relevant to how I was feeling. My horoscope told me today is a good day to explore long-term trends and make moves forward to pursuit my goals. There’s also a great deal of energy working in my favor.

The last photo is of a Chinese fortune cookie. The slip reads, “A good way to keep healthy is to eat more Chinese food.” I love my culture and I love Chinese food. The Chinese culture is so rich in tradition, and Chinese food is delicious but sometimes I get tired of eating it.

A Piece of Tahmina

This is my playlist of songs that define me. Of parts of me.

4. Gotta Work by Amerie

5. It’s Amazing by JEM

6. (Miss) Understood by Ayumi Hamasaki

8. Whole Wide World by Mindy Gledhill

10. Settle Down by Kimbra

http://grooveshark.com/playlist/Bits+Of+Me/90556277

In this unusually long playlist, you can see the different parts to me. From this playlist, you can see that I love to dance. Actually, it’s more like I love to have fun through dance. I am that person who is the first on the dance floor. My songs also show that though I’ve been through tough times, I always get back up. I become stronger and more motivated. I also like to help other’s realize this as well. One of my songs also shows that I love culture. The song by Ayumi was one of the first songs that sparked my interest in the Far East music culture. It is also a song that emphasizes my thoughts on judging people. You don’t know what others have been through, not until you truly find out who they are. That’s why I like getting to know people, and engaging in conversation. Though it’s hard for me to approach others. I am also a very sarcastic person. In the song Settle Down, its sarcastically speaks about rushing into what seems to be a perfect life. I believe that things takes time and work. Hope you guys listen to these great songs, and learn a bit on my taste and values. That was a really cheesy ending, I know.

My Playlist

These are all songs that I either connect with on an emotional level, or are tracks that I’ve made myself. They represent exactly how much music means to me, and how i can enjoy various types of music. Rose is a track that I made along with my friend who did the vocal work. It’s one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever written or recorded. Reason is a remix of mine that is still some of my best work.

Hi every one, I have compiled a few photos that i feel represent why I am the person I am today and also represent some important events in my life.

The first picture is a picture of a place I am proud to say I am from, Guyana. Its a beautiful, small english speaking country in South America and  the next picture shows one of the popular tourist sites, The Kaieture falls. I included these pictures because where I am from has shaped me into the person I am today.  Communities were closely intertwined and there was a real sense of communal effort to support the youth.

The second picture shows the most most influential people in my life. Although I have a pretty close knit family, My mom and my aunt are both strong women who have supported me in every endeavor I have taken  on. Its a great thing to know that you have a strong support system backing you. Makes you feel like you can do anything!

The next few Pictures are just of something that I Love. Music is my Thang!. I love all different types of music whether it be RnB to K-pop.  Since fall is coming very soon, I thought it would be cool to mention my fall favorites: Scarves and a CARAMEL BRULEE LATTE. ! (It’s amazing). The next few photos are just representative of  a few recent events in my life and they are as follows, Hurricane Sandy,(and on the happier side of things) Prom and graduation

I feel that these pictures accurately reflect who I am because you get a glimpse into where I’m from, what I like and a few recent events in my life, all of which have shaped me into the person  I am today

All About Tina

I picked 8 images that represent me as a whole. The first picture I posted was of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. These two women I obbsess over all day and night. I love their style and them being fashion designers. They are my role models, in a way that, I would love to be successful and fashionable at the same time. The second photo is of pasta. This pictures represents me because I can eat pasta every single day of my life. I love any type of pasta with any sause or vegetables in it. I eat pasta at least 5 times a week because its so amazing. The third picture is of a girl dancing. I have danced all my life since i was 4, so it is a part of me. I love to dance jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop. Whenever there is music and a dance floor I’m the first one to get up. The next photo is of a phone and laptop. As a teenager I am totally attached to my phone. I love to search the web looking at new Mary-Kate and Ashley’s pictures or just to find a great restaurant to go to. When I am not on the phone or computer, I love to watch the channel Bravo. My favorite tv show is the real housewives of New York City. I love the drama and the women getting into so many fights. I also love how lavish they live their lifestyles, and would love to be able to afford some of the luxuries they have. I also love New York City, so they are my favorite ones to watch. I also love to listen to music. I love rap, hip-hop, and pop, but my favorite artist is Lil Wayne. I loved listening to his music since I was really young and still love hearing new music from him. The second to last photo is of clothes, which i obbsess over every second of the day. I love fashion and getting new clothes and trying new trends. I was so lucky this year to be able to be in New York City for New York Fashion Week. I love being surrounded by hundreds of people every day with different styles and trends. The last photo is a picture of a brown labrador. I recently adopted a brown lab from an animal shelter. Her name is Riley and I love playing with her all the time. She is the love of my life. All these pictures represent a part of me!

Being Afra…

Those Moments Worth Capturing I Miss High School Dearest YouA Taste of Sugary GoodnessHennaCandlesTen Points for GryffindorBurgundy!

Life is about randomness. It’s about having an amazing time and not regretting a single moment. I love taking photos. Here is but a few.

I spent so much time in Zuccotti Park over the past four years. People may know it as the home to Occupy Wall Street, but it will forever be my lunch spot and the spot where I hung out with friends after school.

Friends, they’ll stick with you through thick and thin and be the dearest. Friends are important to me, and I’m not talking about the people I talk to. I’m talking about the people that will put up with my self-doubt, with my annoying antics, and be there to tell me I’m making a stupid decision.

I have the worst sweet-tooth ever. 99% of the time I won’t turn down a sugary treat.

Henna is amazing. I like having it done! Though it smells awful, the right design can be breathtaking.

Candles, they smell good, at least most of them do. Just watching the flame dance around even when it seems like the air is static is beautiful.

TEN POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR! I love everything Harry Potter and I love socks.

Burgundy is my new obsession. Burgundy shoes, burgundy trousers, burgundy lipstick, burgundy nails and burgundy satchels. I think my friends and family are ready to through me out the window if I mention that color again.

Until next time…

It may seem like I used a lot of pictures that have other people in them, but they’re all a big part of my life.  The first picture on the upper left side is a picture of most of my cousins  and my sister on my dad’s side of the family.  We’re all really close.  We grew up together like siblings.  They all live in the neighborhood, so we see each other often.  Incidentally, all of our names start with the letter F, with the exception of Phillip, who’s name sounds like it starts with an f, so it works out.  The scary part is that none of it was planned out.  It just happened.  By the way, the cousin wearing red and gold is getting married in that picture.

The picture next to that on the right is a group picture from the Model United Nations Club at my high school.  I joined in my junior year, but I already had some knowledge of the way the club worked.  By the end of the year of my senior year, the club was like a family.  Some of them are still my closest friends.  I had a hard time adjusting to the pressure of my AP classes, and they helped me pull through.  We all have the same sense of humor.  The advisors were really great teachers too.  They gave me great life advice. I miss the club and the members.

The next picture is the one on the left in the second row.  It consists of the rest of my friends.  They can cheer me up no matter what.  They’re wacky, ridiculous, and honestly the best people anyone could ask to be friends with.

The picture to the right of that one is a picture of most of the group  I like to call “my munchkins”.  They’re all my cousins’ children, with the exception of the slightly older girl to the right of me.  She’s my cousin Shetu, but she was raised more like a little sister.  I watched the rest of them grow up.  They loved me as babies, but now they’re grown up.  They still hug me tightly whenever they see me.  No matter how old they are, they’ll still be my little munchkins.

The next picture is the one on the left in the third row.  It’s a picture of my sister and I as children.  That picture basically defines our relationship.  We don’t talk to each other much, but when we do get along, its to be silly and annoy our parents.  That’s one of my favorite pictures because of our faces.  I think it’s hilarious.

The picture to the right of that one represents tennis.  It’s been a big part of my life since i stopped swimming.  I play alot with my dad. It makes him happy because he likes spending time with us.  He’s also proud since he introduced the sport to me, and I went far.  I became the captain of the male tennis team at my school.  Our school didn’t have enough money for a female team, so the coach let me join the boys team.  I quickly rose in the ranks and eventually became captain in my senior year.  We still faced other male tennis teams, but I held my ground.  I still play once in a while.

The picture on the left in the last row is the collection of my favorite book series.  Its not a college level series, but I began reading the books when I was in the fifth grade.  After that, I would anticipate the release of a new book in the series.  It ended five years after I discovered it, but to this day, it remains as one of my favorite series.  It relates to Greek mythology, which I’ve had an interest in since I was a young girl.  I’ve always loved the imagination of the greeks and I’ve always been astounded by how they used logic and everyday occurrences to explain the existence of the gods.

The last picture represents my love for anime.  I’ve watched numerous shows in a variety of genres.  Anime is similar to American TV shows.  There are different genres and the characters have their own personalities.  the only difference is that they’re in japanese and the characters aren’t real.  I don’t see a real difference in anime and regular TV.  I watch american shows and animes, and I’ll probably never give up on it.  Anime is a huge part of my life.
