Blog Post 3: Mishkin Art Gallery

I found the visit to the Mishkin Art Gallery enriching in an artistic way. I am not a very artistic person but I respect and admire the work painters put into their masterpieces. Every stroke and color of the brush conveys emotion. When I look at paintings I always wonder what the painters were thinking at the time when the brush meets the canvas. I’m not very good at interpreting paintings and I generally  look at the big picture so I always miss the specific emotion and mood of the paintings. Even though I never heard of the artist Theresa Bernstein the tour around the gallery allowed me to see some of the emotions she was expressing in her paintings, and I was able to learn parts of her life through these still images. I felt the gallery and tour was very well put together. The paintings complement one another, and the tour guide was very passionate about  Bernstein’s artwork. The trip overall was a pleasant experience, but the tour towards the end was a little tiresome.
