Blog Post #3

When I reflect on our trip to the Sidney Mishkin Gallery, its easy to point out all the “negative” feelings I may have had towards the trip. However, looking back close enough, I found that although the guide may have been long-winded and the paintings uninteresting, it was something I can appreciate. This was a new experience under my belt and my knowledge of the art world, although not completely altered had been widened.  The tour guide tried to keep the tour interesting however it just wasn’t working. The lights kept the room at an uncomfortably warm temperature, we were standing the whole time and although some what interesting the art wasn’t life changing. I appreciate art when it stands for something. I felt that the art that we explored the artists work, but no social issues were at hand. It wasn’t revolutionary. It was a simple art gallery, with simple work.
