Eight Slide Shows: http://imgur.com/a/Rik51

The first photo was my first year in America, when I was in eighth grade. He was my first teacher in here, I learned a lot from him! I love him so much and I miss him a lot.

The second image was about celebration after high school graduation. These are my friends that I spent four years with, but today it’s a brand new page for everyone. I hope that we will keep in touch and wish them good luck in college.

I went to the Washington D.C shown in the third picture. I visited Lincoln Memorial, U.S Capital and so on. My friend took a photo of me in front of the status of Martin Luther King Jr. I am so tiny compared to the status! It was a wonderful experience and I had a lot of fun in there!

Usually I may look like a nerdy girl. However, when I’m with my friends I act hyperactively. As you can see in the fourth image, we were playing in the park and shot some flying and kicking action photos. It was hard to capture the perfect moment and we tried many times to get it. It was crazy but fun. 🙂

I work at an outfit store. In fifth picture we went to eat barbecue after work, because one of my co-worker was leaving the store, he held his daughter  in his arm as you can see. The food was not that delicious as expected and the restaurant was very crowded and hot, but we had an opportunity to spend time together and entertain.

I also like to travel around to see different people and attractions. Since college started, I don’t have the time to travel around the world. I usually go somewhere near. In the sixth picture I went to the Brooklyn Bridge with my boyfriend. He told me that the views are amazing but he lied! He’s real purpose was to have some cardio workout. It was a really long walk and the sun was burning my back. I kind of liked it because he was with me.

Even though my major is business, I’m interested in drawing too. I had art classes in high school so I developed art skills. I spend most of my free time to draw. The seventh picture is some pencil and color pencil drawings of my artwork.

The last photo is my lovely boyfriend, Brian. I took the picture while we were boating in the central park. He tried hard to row the boat so that I can enjoy the views. I was scared in the beginning because I was afraid of drowning into the water. However, while staying with him I felt very safe. It was a special day to us and he made my day!

That’s it. Hope you can know more about me after reading this blog!!

My name is YunJeong Kim and I was born in Seoul, South Korea. My family and I came to United States when I was in 3rd grade by taking the Korean Air airplane. It is one of the most popular airlines in Asia. In United States, I lived in different towns, including Fort Lee, where a lot of Koreans live, and West Orange, where is located near Newark. I am currently living in Piermont, NY, and commuting to Baruch everyday. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to commute and I have to hurry myself to take the bus in early morning. Although it was very tiring during the first several days of school, I am now getting used to it. I always dreamed of going to an art school and becoming an interior designer, but I changed my career plan in senior year of high school. The next three pictures are the albums of my favorite singers. I loved Jason Mraz since the day I first heard his music on Youtube when I was in middle school. Next picture is an album of Bigbang, one of the most popular singing groups in South Korea. Last year, I went to their concert in New Jersey and it was amazing. I downloaded every albums of them and only listened to their songs for a month. Currently, I am more interested in listening to Korean Hip Hop than idol groups’ music. Last one is an album of Primary, one of the well known music writers in Korean Hip Hop. I also included a picture of baking materials to show my interest in baking. I found recipes online and baked many cookies, macaroons, and cupcakes whenever I had time to do so. I hope these pictures well described who I am to the classmates.

My name is Michelle Chan and the ten songs I chose is a representation of who I am.  Each song tells a story of my past and how the past changed me to become the person I am today.

The songs, “Skyscraper,” “Titanium,” and “Sticks and Stones” have similar meanings.  They are about overcoming the struggles, rising above people and not letting anyone bring you down.  I was bullied a lot when I was younger and it made me an insecure person.  As I got older, I realized that people bully others because they sought attention and they probably had lower self esteem.  I stop letting people and words get to me so I ignore it because I know I’m the better person. With the help from my family and friends, I’ve became a stronger person.  I don’t let a lot of things bother me and I’ve became more confident with who I am.

“Never Close Our Eyes” and “If Today Was Your Last Day” is about living life to the fullest and that is what I am currently doing.  If there are opportunities, I go for them.  I don’t hold myself back anymore and becoming carefree. “It’s A New Day” has a similar meaning, which is embracing life and seizing the day, despite the issues.  To me, each day is a brand new start and I make the best of out it. In “Circle,” Tino Coury points out that life can be confusing and hard, but you have to go on with life.  Life is too short to hold on to everything and sometimes you need to let things go.  I used to take everything to heart, and I ended up getting hurt.  I realized later on that it was too much work to satisfy everyone so, I only hold on to the people I treasure most.

“Breakaway” is about leaving the familiar behind and experiencing life the way you want and learn from your mistakes.  My parents are really strict and try to keep me under their watch all the time.  I tend to not listen and go off in my own way and experience what life has offered me.  Now, my parents are slowly releasing the tight grip they had on me and understand that I must experience things on my own for me to truly believe what I see. “Dark Side” points out that no one is perfect and they have a “dark” side of them.  I agree with the statement, “no one is perfect.”  Everyone has their flaws and I know I have mine.  I had a rough past and there are reasons why I react to things a certain way.  “Silhouette” is about being an outline.  I used to be the person that was “just there” or be part of the crowd.  Now that I am more confident of whom I am, I express myself freely.

This playlist express the type of person I am and I hope you like the music!
