I honestly did not have an order when picking out the songs for this playlist (so it’s in alphabetical order)
1. What is Love – Haddaway: I picked this song because it reminded me of one of my best friends, Earvin, throughout middle school and high school. Sadly, he moved to Florida. Every time I saw him, he would play this song to “get the party started.”
2. Warriors – Imagine Dragons: This is my current song. Am I supposed to relate to this? I wasn’t part of the warriors who built this town. But I think it’s very powerful. Most Imagine Dragons songs are.
3. This Love – Maroon 5: This was my favorite songs as a kid (and is still one of my favorites). Love is something I’ll never truly have a grasp on. Probably nobody will.
4. Simple & Clean (Music box Version): Kingdom Hearts. Another big part of my childhood. I’ve never been too good at the game. The soundtrack, however, is amazing. The music box version of Utada Hikaru’s Simple and Clean have always gotten me through the night if I couldn’t sleep.
5. Sexy Can I (ft. Yung Berg) – Ray J: This song is so out of place. This reminds me of my girl best friend Amy. She goes to Stony Brook now. We were the derpiest pair of kids to enter Brooklyn Tech. This song reminds me of her because it’s one of our guilty pleasure songs (or a song we’d be embarrassed to admit we like). She helped my figure out who I was in high school and built my confidence like crazy. I love this girl, or boy (sometimes she cross dresses under the name Andy).
6. Lucky (ft. Colbie Caillat) – Jason Mraz: lucky to be in love with my best friend Sometimes. I guess I’m still in love with my best friend? I should probably do something about that. It’s not the same guy was the one in song 1, promise.
7. I’ll Be There – Jackson 5: Oh goodness. This song is the epitome of my friend Jing. She’s always been there, since middle school as well. Even though there were times when we fought, when we saw each other again, we were nothing but friendly and accepting!
8. Float On – Modest Mouse: This is apparently, my song. According to all of my friends, when they have to think of a song for me, they think of Float On. I guess it’s because I’m pretty optimistic. Or at least, I try to think on the bright side. It really hurt, when my friend left he wrote in my yearbook: we’ll all float on okay.
9. Flaws – Bastille: This really reminds me of my number one best friend Christian. He is means so much to me. He’s like the second pea in my pod, except we’re pretty derpy together. I guess two mangoes trying to fit in a pod??? We have a lot of differences and flaws, but without him I guess I wouldn’t be myself.
10. Colors of the Wind – (on the playlist it says Disney): Ha, a Disney song. This reminds me of my really close friend Patteera. She’s my bubble buddy (we established this over the summer). She’s like the second half of my brain. In one of the assignments, I wrote that a true friend is someone who will finish your lyrics. She finishes my lyrics whenever I start saying them out of nowhere, this song just happens to be our favorite. “You may think I’m an ignorant savage…”
That’s about it! I guess I’m pretty friend – oriented. I don’t think thats such a bad thing
~Carolyn Quach
“I’m bad, and that’s good. I will never be good, and that’s not bad. There’s no one I’d rather be then me.”
you gotta love Wreck- It- Ralph.
