I think this meme describes my first semester perfectly because it has been hard to motivate myself to really buckle down and study. Before I’ve only been studying when I absolutely must, so my goal for next semester is to study more often at reasonable times, which will help me improve my grades and be a less stressed person overall.
Experience At Baruch
My first semester at Baruch was great in that I made new friends and had a great time learning new things about what Baruch has to offer. I visited new places and ate at different restaurants around Baruch. Throughout the semester, I got numerous assignments and had sleepless nights. My best friend throughout the whole time was coffee! If I don’t have coffee one morning, I definitely feel like a zombie. Overall, entering college made me realize that coffee is essential in one’s life.

1st semester at Baruch!
So… this meme truly depicts me during the semester so far. It can be seen through many aspects; whether it be my reaction to the professors I have for my classes, their teaching styles, the people I end up seeing at Baruch, and of course the surprise I get when I see my grades.
As we all know, studying for tests and quizzes is pretty stressful. To me, I feel like even when I do or don’t study, I end up getting a low grade anyway. Haha. But so far, in my classes, such as calculus or Latin American Studies, I would receive a higher grade than I expected. And I would think to myself exactly what the meme says, “What is this sorcery?” If you feel the same way, we are best friends. But I guess this is a good thing, so I’m not complaining.
On the other hand, what I AM complaining about, are the classes and the professors. Not all, but most. I guess each professor has a flaw, but maybe some are just more lenient, or maybe others are more organized; but what I’m saying is is that all our professors are different, and probably did not teach or handle the class well in different ways. Calculus: he was pretty confusing and seemed confused himself. English: we were reading stories most of the time instead of practicing writing. History: I don’t think the class learned much, except that no one really reads. LTS: wasn’t that bad, but there was so much information to take in for every class and the quizzes and test were killer. Communications: it was such a fun test, but not much feedback after each speech and the grading system makes it hard to see if you did well enough. And last, but not least, FRO: it was a fun day and we always got treats from our professor. (: That made my Thursdays, after all those classes. The only thing was that it was pretty late on Thursday, but it was a nice class to have, especially when Eena treated us to coffee, and we all just chilled and hung out together as Baruch students. We were able to get advice from Eena; well, at least Geet did (; . That made me closer with my friends and will be be one of my favorite memories, here at Baruch.
In the end, my first semester at Baruch, and as a college student, is quickly coming to an end with finals coming our way. It was great to spend this time with LC10. Good luck everyone!
(Who knows? We might get unexpected grades on our finals or we might have classes together again, and we will all say “What is this sorcery?”)

First Semester Meme
My first semester of college has been solid in all aspects. Both my social life and grades are thriving, but my grades certainly would not have been this good if I never did an all nighter. So far I’ve done three all nighters for various reasons, those including tests and papers. With finals coming up and three 5+ page papers being due within the next month I will most certainly be taking part in a few more of all nighters.
First Semester Meme
Well college is a new experience for me, as I believe it would be for all of us. My meme talks about how truly expensive going out in the city is, and how going to try new things costs some serious amount of money that is not as easy to have. I have gone to try new foods around the city, and it has been a wonderful experience, but it all adds up to be a lot of money I barely have disappearing. Baruch is a wonderful experience, and my parents want me to enjoy my time in college. I love the time I am having at Baruch and the people that I am sharing it with, just sometimes the money is a lot and I have to watch how much I end up spending to see if I can afford it. I love everything about Baruch, and one of the best things there that I can enjoy is the $5 dollar sushi, which I can easily afford and do not mind eating because it tastes good. I want to go out more and see more of what the city has to offer, just sometimes it is too much of a hit on the pocket, so if there was an easier way to experience all the city has to offer, I would gladly use it to see more.
My first semester
My first semester in Baruch was very crazy. In the beginning, I honestly thought this wasn’t the school for me. There were definitely a great amount of work and the stress level was super high. At times, the gap hours would be a bit boring also because I didn’t know what to do during my free time. The number of hours of sleep I would get would decrease day by day and college was just so different from high school. However with this many downs came along many ups as well. I didn’t succeed yet but I’m still trying to work on my time management problems so that the stress level and hours of sleep I get will become better. I also made many new friends which made gaps a lot more fun. Yes, college is very different from high school but I learned to enjoy these changes and have a little fun with them. I am growing to become more independent and I feel like college is changing me for the better. I am looking forward to my next 4 years in Baruch!
Since my first semester at baruch was pretty stress free, I don’t have that much too complain about. However, I did find that registering for classes was stressful due to the requirements. I guess thats a pretty good only complaint… Don’t know if it will stay like that as the semesters go on
I found this meme on Facebook.

Time management is still holding me back.
Procrastination has been the main thing that really hindered my grades for the Fall semester. With so many breaks, time seems to fly. There seems to not be enough time to study and get work done. Rarely do I get a chance to step back and think about what I want to do with my life.
But if I were to candid, I guess I have not made the best of decisions. I go out to eat rather than studying at the library. I stayed out late on weekends. I put off a lot of work until the night before.
Even though I had planned on cutting off hanging out and focusing on my studies, that didn’t happen. In fact, I found myself to be more social than before.
Finals are coming and I should study…

First Semester Meme
After spending years simply studying the night before the exam and getting an A, I quickly realized the same could not be done in college. Getting home late at night every other day from work certainly didn’t help my study habits. But like everything in life, sacrifices must be made. Whether that was missing a social event or missing some hours of sleep I did it because the ends justified the means. Despite the struggles I have taken a liking for Baruch College. Although the same cannot be said about the MTA subway system. But there’s more to Baruch than just academics, coming to Baruch every day, I realized why NYC is the capital of the world. Every day is an adventure and I hope to continue this adventure with the friends at school and professional connections at work I made this semester.
