If you know these 11 songs then you understand that there is no need for a 500 word explanation as to why they are so great in my eyes. At this point you can kind of guess I’m a bit of a romantic, yes, it’s true. #10 Is my favorite french song simply because I love Jane Birkin’s voice. #9, well because Phil Collins is awesome and this is his best song. #8 and #7 kind of go together in that they remind me of high school and middle school summers. #6, come on. #5 is one of those that makes me wish love were an easier endeavor. #4 is a song I first heard in a scene in Zombieland, the movie. It was heart touching. #3 seems pretty fitting now that I’m in college in NYC. It speaks to the solemnity and loneliness that’s seen everyday on these busy streets.#2 is a classic and one which I can imagine myself singing to a beautiful women in a mid-century styled bar wearing a black suit and skinny tie. And as for #1… What can I say? Its the story of how important true love is to someone and how it means more than anything in the world. It’s a story told by the one and only Otis Redding; a man who captivated many hearts and died too young.
