On Thursday, I went to the Chit-Chat club with Ricky, Florenza, and Florenza’s friend, Vicky. My initial intention of going was to fulfill the blog requirement and have something to write about. However, when I heard that there was going to be free Chinese food, I got really excited because I am all about the free food. Besides the food, I really enjoyed the club. I was expecting the club to be more about chit-chatting, such partnering up with strangers and try to get to know them. However, all I did was play games, introduce myself, and just ate. We played a game that was the combination of charades and telephone. A few people would stand in line in the middle of the room facing one way. The first person would get a word and he/she had to act it out with only actions to the second person. That repeated until it gets to the last person who has to guess the word. I got to swing an umbrella around to act as a ninja. I didn’t know that the word was ninja; I thought the word was samurai because the person before me was swinging it like a swordsmen. When I was watching the game, it was really amusing to watch people act out the words and see the changes in the next person’s action. The club was really welcoming and those who are part of the club are really nice.
Chit-Chat club is club that doesn’t require a membership. It is open for everyone. I heard that every Thursday is a “speak your mind” day. People can talk about current events, opinions, and problems. They also said that in each month, the club will also doing different things. I think that in October, they are doing something called résumé Photoshop. I have bad memory so I don’t remember the exact name but it is business related. There is also movie night month and party month. I am definitely going to back to the club in the future because I like the vibe of the club and I think I can gain something from it.
