For my blog post, I decided to have it be about a career workshop this time. I decided to head over to the office of STARR Career Development in Baruch. STARR helps students by preparing them for jobs and internships and careers. STARR provides career counseling, mock interviews, resume building and fairs for students to find jobs or internships. STARR even provides professional clothing for students who may need it. I was familiar with STARR because it helped me find my work study job. I now work at the Baruch Early Learning Center. I decided to go to the STARR office and show them my resume so that I can get advice on it. I always had a resume but it was never fully looked at by someone else. It was made based off of what I knew myself. So I wanted to take it to the office so that they can tell me what to fix for the future when I needed to hand out my resume. STARR helped me out a lot. They showed me what I needed to fix and what I had done right. I learned how to emphasize work that I have previously done in a right amount of words. It was vey helpful because resumes are very important because they highlight all that you have done which would help a person get further in life.
