Beta Alpha Psi (commonly known as BAP) is a non-profit organization that promotes the practice and study of accounting, finance and computer information systems and also do community service. I attended their second general interest meeting, which was just information on the requirements one needs to apply for BAP as well as to get to know some of the more important people in this organization. My first impressions were really good since they were very welcoming, friendly and after the presentation we were able to ask questions to several members. The requirements are that you need a 3.5 GPA or 90% cumulative GPA (depending on what school one frequented), attend one general interest meeting and attend another Rush event. Also, you will need to submit an application before the 23rd of September attached with a resume and your transcript (high school transcript for freshmen). They told us that if our GPA’s were not high enough, to apply for the following semester and to join a club to help with resumes. Lastly, they’ve said numerous times during the event that their main goal is to help get the highest potential out of one another so that they can facilitate getting an internship in the future by getting connections, dressing nicely and being confident with the help of mock interviews that are practiced. Above all, I recommend BAP to all those that are interested in accounting, finance or computer information systems and I will be applying for this organization either this semester or the following.
