Last week on Thursday, I attended the General Interest Meeting for Baruch’s ESA Team along with other friends in the photo. ESA which stands for E-Sports Association is a group that is dedicated to competing in video games and attending various events related to competitive gaming. When the meeting started, the room became incredibly crowded and many latecomers had to stand throughout the entire meeting. The ESA club president and other higher ups introduced us to the club and their roles within the group. I personally do not enjoy games when they are being taken seriously but the club actually welcomes everyone as long as they enjoy video gaming as a hobby whether it is serious or not. After the introductions and the explanations about the ESA club, my friends who are also present in the picture, Noah Fleishman and Anthony Zhang, and I met a lot of new friends who had a lot in common with video games for the rest of the meeting. Overall, I really enjoyed attending this club meeting not only because of the video game aspect but because I was able to befriend many people in by conversing with them about gaming.
