Hillel is a club in Baruch that tries to connect people to their Jewish culture. I usually come to relax and hang out in their space, but on Monday I went to their September 11 meeting. They started with a story about a former member who died, and how there is a scholarship created to remember her memory. This was followed with a moment of silence, the lighting of candles, and a passage being read. It was a very nice ceremony, and gave a more personal connection to this great tragedy. The people there were very friendly, and I’m intending on coming back.
