Today I went to a workshop that was focused on developing a cover letter and the purpose of the cover letter. Basically, the idea that was emphasized is a cover letter is a formal introduction for an employer or professional contact. The cover letter is supposed to make viewers/ readers want to view your resume. The structure of the cover letter and the content that goes into a cover letter was constantly repeated so you wouldn’t forget it. An important concept that resonated with me was a cover letter can make of break your entry into a company, and there are two types of cover letters. Although the workshop was pretty redundant content wise, it was useful and effective.
