I went to the Major and Minor fair last Thursday, November 9th, and now I have quite the thick stack of papers in my notebook lol. I came hoping to learn more about the majors and minors Baruch offers (since I’m undecided in what I want to study) and did manage to gain some useful information. At first I just hung back a little and listened to others’ questions since I didn’t know what to ask, but then approached the tables myself to find out more. Each one gave me a list or two of classes I needed to take for the course, and I got to hear about the job opportunities each major offered, or what minor would go well with the major (like a minor in Psychology or Business Communications would be good for Marketing). I also learned of a few new majors that I hadn’t considered before. I’m glad there was an event for this specifically, but I wish I had asked better questions because unlike the club fair, the people at the tables didn’t seem to know what to tell me and I didn’t know what to ask, which made for a bit of an awkward exchange. I feel like there’s still a lot I don’t know, so hopefully I’ll find out more along the way and manage to pick a major that suits me soon.
