Career Workshop

For my career workshop, I attended the Tech Career Panel, co-hosted by Ascend and Fem Code. It was on Nov. 7 at the second floor in a small room. Going inside, I was expecting a lot of computers and a slideshow prepared, (because of the tech name), but instead, it was just a panel of three people talking to us, two being Baruch alumni and the last from a tech company in NJ. For the majority of the event, we listened to the leaders of Ascend/Fem Code asking questions to the three panel members and they would answer them. I learned a lot about CIS and also a bit of how it is in the work force. One thing that really stuck to was that they said that being in CIS is similar to being a translator for business and tech. After the panel talk, we were able to ask the panel questions about them or just their jobs.
