Instead of going to a traditional museum, Joey and I decided to go to a farm museum. On Friday, we went to the Queens County Farm Museum. There were many activities offered, one of them being The Amazing Maize Maze, which is essentially a three acre corn maze. The facilitators began with a “Stalk Talk”, which is where they basically told us the rules of the maze as well as how to find clues to get to the exit; then, we were off to find our own way out. Aside from the corn maze, there was also a petting and feeding area where you could interact and feed the farm animals. Some of the animals the farm museum raises are sheep, rabbits, pigs, roosters, cattle, goats, alpaca, honeybees, etc. The farm museum also offered a tour that taught about their green houses, growing fields, gardens, and composting areas among others.
