Netflix has taken over the the media society after the decline of Blockbuster, for $8.99 a month viewers can watch a wide variety of popular shows and movies at the push of a button.Unlike Blockbuster where you would have to rent a DVD, Netflix takes away the hassle of late fees and saves you the trip to the store. Netflix is seeing rapid increase in subscribers and has reached the 30 million mark for the first time. Netflix is a great tool to have not only for personal/home entertainment but also in classrooms. I have seen teachers use it to show Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima and Civil war videos. This proves the versatility of Netflix as a learning tool as well. I would expect the gradual incline of Netflix in the next couple of years unless a supercompany comes up with a better version of the site but unless that happens Netflix should still very much in business.
