  1. An outer obstacle that stands between me and my success in college is trying to understand a professor and his assignments. Although I do ask him questions, look up videos and information online or even ask my friends, there’s still a misconnection and not enough clarity of what he expects.
  2. Someone besides me who could help me overcome this outer obstacles is my own professor still try to get more time to speak to him during his office hours.
  3. How this person could help me is by better understanding what he expects of certain assignments and I would try to better grasp on the information I missed.
  4. An inner obstacle that stands between me and my success in college is really nothing because if I’m dedicated enough to get the grades I want to get, I wouldn’t let anything get in my way. Although I do get distracted at times, I would find a better place to focus and get my things done.
  5. Someone besides me who could help me overcome this inner obstacle is myself
  6. How this person could help me is by setting goals, turning off my phone and finding a focus place to do my assignments
  7. The most challenging course I’m taking in college this semester is my history class, I was never really good with this subject in high school although I still got a high grade the information didn’t stick with me after exams. I just find it really boring but it’s a challenge that I should live up to.
  8. This course is challenging for me because I find it boring and not as interesting unlike some other subjects. Not being able to connect with it as much and knowing that I’m going to use it later on for my future career.
  9. Someone besides me who could help me overcome this challenge is my history professor or different tutors that I can go for extra help. Even YouTube videos are really helpful.
  10. How this person could help me by is to better understand the information and find a way to remember it for exams and finals.

Two choices that could make a stronger support system for myself in college is to continue to have the motivation and desire to be successful within my courses, because without that desire I think I wouldn’t be able to put as much effort into my work. I’m really lucky to have the connection with school, enjoy and take full advantage of my education that some kids don’t really appreciate it. A second support system for myself is to continue studying and keeping up to date with my assignments. Having to be a week in advance with my work gives me more time to do personal things. Weekends are really helpful to organize and review certain information from class. I believe the support system starts with oneself you can’t rely on someone else to be successful, motivation comes from yourself to be the best of the best.

  1. The system I use to plan everything I need to do each day is having a planner. I’ve been using this technic since high school, I find it really helpful because I’ve always been a neat freak so the planner comes in handy. I write everything I have to do, buy, any responsibilities, meetings, or events I need to attend all in different colors. I’m also a very visual person, so having multiple colors makes it stand out as well as having the appearance of my planner looking nice and organized. There are many things I need to remember having my planner keeps me on track, and I never miss anything because I got into a habit of checking it every day. On weekends I sit down for a couple of minutes and jot down future responsibilities so I could be ahead of the game and not worry about forgetting it to write it down. My planner is a sense of relief, although I get stressed with other things I can always count on my planner to let me know what I have to do.
  2. Personally I wouldn’t use all of the five self- management tools separately just because these tools connect to me having a planner, I don’t need to waste extra time creating these separately. Expect for the project folder I already do that with all of my classes, I have a very specific technic I use. Having one multi –folder containing about 5 sections and color coding each class with a specific color, eventually I would memorize which color goes with with class. I believe I have very good self-management skills overall, having my planner plays a huge role and incorporates these five self- management tools.
