1)My long term goals (As a College Student):

  1. Compete three internships by 2019.
  2. Graduate with my bachelors by 2019.
  3. Graduate with my masters by 2024.

My short term goals (As a College Student):

  1. Achieve a B or higher in all of my classes.
  2. Create a well organized study sheet for all of classes.
  3. Speak to every professor about my grades to see if I am on track.

2) I learned, from designing my goals, my main focus and priority in life is my education. I knew I was motivated enough to attend school, but didn’t know I had more motivation to finish it with exemplary grades.

1. The system I use each day is a “next action list”. I write down, inside of a small notebook, everything that I have to complete for tomorrow or the following days. It’s extremely helpful because it serves as a daily reminder of what I need to get done to stay on track. This approach releases my stress because I don’t have to try to dig into my memory about an assignment a professor mentioned in class.

2.Something I should do, to remain in quadrant one, is get a planner and project folder. A planner is more sufficient and records future assignments and test. A “next action list” helps me, but a planner seem more helpful. I noticed I was attacked with a lot of group projects, and a project folder is the best approach for this.

My Life Plan
My Dream: My biggest accomplishment I am hoping for in life is to live comfortably and be happy in my own skin. I don’t necessary stress over being a millionaire but I do not want to ever worry about my bills not being paid. Also I want to be the voice/action of change, and be looked at as a role model.
My Life Role: A student at Baruch College
My Long-Term Goals in this Role: I plan on being a graduate from Baruch College and then a graduate from Law School. I want to achieve both my B.A and J.D
My Short-Term Goals in this Role:
My short term goals are pretty simple:
– I want a achieve a grade of B or higher in each of my classes
-I want the adjustment to college to get a little easier
-I want to pass all my finals of course
– And Lastly, I want to had enjoyed the freshman college experience by the end of the semester
2. One thing I’ve learned is that I am more doubtful in person rather on paper.
I have a clear set of goals but I still feel I lack motivation. The college adjustment has not been that easy, but I am trying to stay motivated in the intention of accomplishing all my goals. I plan on passing every course this semester, I just feel I am still a bit unorganized. I am hoping it will get better along the way.

1. My present system of organization has completely lacked what I envisioned. My decisions of what I will do each day is basically which assignment I feel is most urgent & for which class. This is not working. By thinking that I have enough time to complete a different assignment or long readings in a short period of time has proven that you will fall behind.
2. Using the five self management tools can help overcome doubts, get organized and help you obtain your goals. This is one thing I have learned in Chapter 4. For example of getting organized, a useful tip mentioned was using a monthly calendar for remembering important dates, due assignments, exams and etc. Another helpful tip was having a new action list to help track and maintain goals.

1. I do not have a specific system to decide what I will do each day. I keep track of everything I need to do by jotting it down on my phone calendar or notes, but I almost never do them in the order I plan. I feel organized because I know exactly what it is that I must do but I normally decide when and how I will do them as my day goes by. I try to take things one step at time so that I do not overwhelm myself.

2. I would not use the self-management tools in these chapters, as I feel more comfortable with having reminders on my phone. It is not that I do not find the self-management tools useful, it is more that I have found my method useful. I always have my phone on me and I am decent at keeping mental notes of what I need to do or keep up with. My phone contains a calendar where I can set dates as well as a notes section where I can copy upcoming assignments. I also have a binder similar to the project folder where I have separate sections for each of my classes.

1. My Dream: Work for the Victoria’s Secret marketing team.

My life role: College student

My long term goals in this role:
Gain a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Gain an MBA
Become financially stable
Buy my mother a house
Have a worthwhile career that I enjoy

My short term goals in this role:
Pass all my classes
Procrastinate less
Read more often

Be content with what I have

2. I have learned that it is much easier to strive for your goals when you are fully aware of what they all are.

  1. The system I use to plan everything I need to do each day is having a planner. I’ve been using this technic since high school, I find it really helpful because I’ve always been a neat freak so the planner comes in handy. I write everything I have to do, buy, any responsibilities, meetings, or events I need to attend all in different colors. I’m also a very visual person, so having multiple colors makes it stand out as well as having the appearance of my planner looking nice and organized. There are many things I need to remember having my planner keeps me on track, and I never miss anything because I got into a habit of checking it every day. On weekends I sit down for a couple of minutes and jot down future responsibilities so I could be ahead of the game and not worry about forgetting it to write it down. My planner is a sense of relief, although I get stressed with other things I can always count on my planner to let me know what I have to do.
  2. Personally I wouldn’t use all of the five self- management tools separately just because these tools connect to me having a planner, I don’t need to waste extra time creating these separately. Expect for the project folder I already do that with all of my classes, I have a very specific technic I use. Having one multi –folder containing about 5 sections and color coding each class with a specific color, eventually I would memorize which color goes with with class. I believe I have very good self-management skills overall, having my planner plays a huge role and incorporates these five self- management tools.

  1. I honestly just find a nice and calm place to do my work. If there is a test I study a couple days in advance. But I do just do the readings for last minute. This has been holding me for a while but when I see how much I have to read I shut off and pretend it doesn’t exist.
  2. I could adapt a tracking form and monthly calendar so that I don’t fall behind in any of my assignments. I tend to forget stuff so I feel this will be helpful to me in the long run.
