Monologue

This week, my bicycle got stolen in mid town of Manhattan, New York City, the place where I love the most. I started questioning myself: why can this happened in Manhattan, the center of the world’s economics? I trusted the community in Manhattan with great amount of polices, and this still happened. Do I have to continuously pay attention to everything near me, or is it just a accident? I feel frustrated and from now on, I will not trust any others. A bicycle aren’t worth anything, but it shows the loophole of security in Manhattan.

Major Minor Fair

Last week, we heard about the Major and Minor Fair from email. My friends and I decided to go to the Major and Minor Fair Thursday. It is really joyful because I love how the Baruch community helps each individuals. When i walk into the room, I saw a lot of desks with all the major and minor placed on top. There are a lot of professor and student leaders willing to help us if we have any question. For me, I haven’t decide a specific major yet, but I know what area i will go for. Since I had photography experience before, I will probably go for it as a Minor. Overall, I learned and absorbed a lot of information from it. I am really thankful for Baruch.

Writing Group

After going to the Writing Center, i feel more confidence about my English time by time. In this Workshop, I learned how to control an argument with topic sentence. The topic sentence often stay on the first sentence or last sentence. The topic sentence always affect the article in multiple ways. For example, it can start an argument or explain a research or study.  Throughout my time in this group, I really love how everything helps me which contribute to a better me. By hearing other people’s  opinion, I feel that my view has been stretched. I can think an problem in different ways. Overall, I am really thankful for the Baruch Community.image

It has been a month since we come to Baruch College. After joining the Baruch community, I feel excited with pressure. Even though Baruch has a really good environment, there is still a lot of pressure on students such as papers, homework, quizzes, finals.

For this class, we had choice of going to workshop or the museum. My classmates decide to go to the Rubin Museum together. We saw a lot items from different culture such as bronze statue, painting, ceramics.

The one that interest me the most is the Lukhang Temple Murals. The name of the temple means ” Temple of Water Spirits.” It located behind the famous portals palace in Lhasa and is sometimes referred to as the secret temple of the Dalai Lamas.
