Either add alt text or mark the image as decorative.I went to the Starr center development center to talk to someone and get some help in making my resume. It wasn’t like a workshop but more of a one on one session with one of the peer mentors to talk about what goes into a resume and how to make it stand out during the application process. The session itself was really informative. Since never had a resume in the first place, I didn’t really have an idea of how the format was supposed to look like or what type of useful information to put in it. The person went through the entire resume building process. She told me about what to bold and what to talk about and what the format of the sentences should be as well as the bullet points for job experiences as well as what i should do to make my resume as best as it can possibly be. She also gave me information about the different clubs i could join that was related to my major and add depth to my resume. I was also given a packet on some different examples of cover letters and resumes. She suggested that I come back with my resume when i was done and schedule an actual resume session for starr to further improve my resume and cover letter. It was actually more helpful than I thought. I learned about what starr has to offer in addition to allowing me to discover another resource of the school that I can utilize to future help me with choosing my career path. I’m glad that we had freshmen year seminar and the enrichment workshops because it allowed me to go out of my comfort zone and explore the campus past my classes and the cafeteria.

weekly reflection

this is for the second week of October. Once again I probably forgot about it. I spent money on the game again even though I said I would stop playing games. I need to put more of my focus and attention on school instead of on guys and on games.

weekly reflection

well this is for the first week of October. I probably forgot to do it since we didn’t have fys one of those weeks. I think every week is the same thing over and over again. I’m tired of having to travel 2 hours to school and two hours back. I’m tired of having to pay for classes I teach and learn myself.

weekly reflection

I studied for my history test today. I think I did pretty well other than the fact that I didn’t have enough time to finish my essay. I cut a foot of hair off this weekend and then dyed it blueish gray.  It was a pretty big change for me since my hair as always been a big part of me and of who I am.

Weekly Relfection

This class honestly didn’t help what so ever so I’m glad its coming to an end. I didn’t make any friends in fys and here I am writing the 600 word monologue that we have to do for this class. Its not like thats gunna help us in life and why is it six hundred words. other classes have to do max of 300. I don’t want others to know that much about me.

Weekly Reflection

I finessed my math test yesterday which was a blessing since I actually studied for it. I have my history test coming up and my english essay is due today and i have a history quiz tomorrow as well as a communications quiz and I need to make two more backup schedules incase i don’t get the classes i want. Honestly I did this whole college thing wrong like can I restart?? It’s fine it’s whatever I’m getting my nails done this weekend so I’m hype about that.

Enrichment Workshop #2 student life

For this enrichment workshop, I attended a general interest meeting for the club UCLA, also known as United Chinese Language Association. I wanted an opportunity to make new relationships, meet new people, and to learn a little more about where I came from. Although it is a chinese club, there are many people from various different backgrounds attending this club. I was able to chat with many of the members and the vice president to get their personal intake on the club.

During the GIM, which is a general interest meeting, we learned a little about each board member and their role in the club. Some of the various roles include the vice president, the head of social media platforms, and the vice president of membership. After being introduced to the MANY board members, we moved on to a couple of activities to bring the group closer together. We played kahoot based on what we just learned from the board member’s introductions and other small basic questions. We also turned and talked in small groups to get to know the other freshman and new club members. It was a chance to make new friends and get to know each other a little more. At the very end, there was a whole feast waiting for us provided by the club for free. We talked while eating some very good food and had a good time taking to upperclassmen about their career paths and advice they had for the underclassmen.

Overall it was a great opportunity to make new friends in a new environment. I was very scared coming to this school because not a lot of people that I knew were coming here. It was definitely an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone, and I am very glad that I did because I was able to make a new friend. Her name Ashley and ever since I met her, we ate lunch together, studied for classes together, and have hung out together outside of school. Through this club, I was able to meet some amazing people.

Weekly Reflection

I already choose the classes I want and picked the teachers I liked. I’m scared that I won’t get all the classes I want so I’m going to make a backup schedule in case the classes are all taken. I still haven’t done the enrichment workshop yet but I’ll do that today.

Weekly Reflection

I got a goose two days ago. Fully prepared for this winter. I took my first history test and managed to skip half the questions because I just didn’t remember the 160+ terms. I plan on actually studying for the next history test along with the next math test.

Weekly Reflection #3

I failed my History quiz this week with a solid 5/10 because I didn’t bother reading 30 pages for homework. I also go sick this weekend which is just lovely. I also made a couple friends this week and I went to go get hotpot with one of them last Sunday. I’m planning on getting my nails done this weekend so I’m excited about that.
