For the second enrichment workshop, my friends and I decided to go to the SACC center. The SACC center is the student academic consulting center where their goal is to help undergraduate students better their education. We had asked about what subjects they offer tutoring for and they gave us a range, for example, Math, Business (which we won’t have to worry about until junior year), Modern Language, etc. They’re available in the daytime, evening, and Saturday’s, with small groups of up to 3 students to allow the tutors to focus on them and the content better to increase their understandings. I went to SACC recently for help with my math homework since my actual professor was not available. The tutor was extremely helpful and explained and broke down the problem step-by-step to ensure me and my friends understood it. They even have textbooks and calculators to assist you, I’ll definitely be visiting the SACC more often beginning soon especially with midterms around the corner. Midterms and finals seem so much farther than they are but I’ll definitely be needing assistance in preparing for those. Math has always been a subject that I understood, but in college it’s a rush of a lot of things, that i know and that are new. I feel lucky to have a tutoring center available, hopefully with their help I can be an “A” student and become a future SACC tutor.
