Hey there! So, you’ve found my page and you’re probably a bit curious about the author, so why don’t I tell you a little about myself?

My name’s Justin Chan, I’m American born Chinese that was raised in Hauppauge, a small little town on Long Island in the great state of New York.  Growing up, my family and several partners ran a Chinese-Japanese restaurant chain that had locations throughout Long Island and the tri-state area.  Due to poor management, the chain did not last, and the last location closed its doors in 2013.

I was constantly surrounded by good, high quality food at a young age.  My mother was an amazing cook, constantly preparing dinners for me and my two elder sisters.  There’d be a plethora of dishes at every meal that would pretty much include all members of the food groups.  Because there was always a variety of different foods, I became a very adventurous eater since I was able to put food in my mouth.  I’ve tried many different types of cuisines and have tried everything from insects, to live octopus.

I’m constantly trying new restaurants and dessert spots, and always cooking something up in the kitchen, so what better way to document my journey than a food blog!  I hope you’ll enjoy my upcoming posts!
