For the first core assignment, I wrote about Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots. It spoke about turning back time to when they were kids. It brought up the difficulty of the transition to adulthood. It brought up dreams vs reality. For my second assignment, I researched stress and the best ways to reduce stress. Turning back time seems like an overused idea but I still want to go with it because it is a core idea in the song.
My movie is going to take place in 2020. A young teen named Leon Skys is on his way to his last year of high school. Once he arrives he talks to no one. Everyone seems to act like he does not exist. His presence feels empty and he goes along with it. After a day filled with loneliness and sadness, he decides to walk home instead. On his way home he finds a weird device that resembles a cellphone. He picks up thinking that he can pawn it off for some money.
Once he arrives home he gets curious and takes out the device. The device turns on and “Enter date” is written on the screen. Not knowing what it meant he writes today’s date. A sudden flash came from the device and he wakes up in his bed. Leon is in disarray not realizing what has happened. He goes along with the day realizing that it was all something he experienced before. He realized that the device brought him back in time. However, now he has the device still in his bag. He starts off testing the device and changing stuff in the past. It was working! He was becoming excited about a second chance in life. He started changing everything he could but then something seemed off. It felt like something was following him. Along with the looming fear and anxiety, all the changes he has made was starting to change things he did not intend to change. Leon starts to break down as a character and what happened to him in high school was revealed. He starts realizing his mistakes in life. This is where my character development is going to take place.
I’m currently deciding on how to present my second core assignment idea into the movie. So I might make the thing following him his own paranoia and stress building up via the side effect of time traveling. He starts getting sleepless and tired. He finds a clue on what’s happening to him and he tries to fix what he has changed. Once he fixes everything he was brought back to when he first found the device. He destroys it and decides to live his one and only chance in life the best way he could.
I was hoping that the ending has a lesson that resembles not taking life for granted and having the most fun and enjoyable life as possible. I’m planning on changing some or most of the story to something more thrilling/ horror related maybe.

I like your plot, it’s kinda like the butterfly effect where a change in the past has a ripple effect that changes things in the future.
Wow, that was really interesting to read. You are writing about something that affects everyone, and for that reason I feel like your film will be able to strike. a chord with everyone who views it. You also are bringing it back to time travel, which is a great throwback to thinking about childhood in Stressed Out
Hey Jacky,
Your trailer idea really makes me think about the importance of living in the present. A lot of us are caught up with stress and our own emotions, and for that reason we all want to go back in time. I really hope your able to carry out your vision because this is a really interesting story plot.
Hello Jacky
Thats quite an interesting idea you have there. It seems like you are combining the theme of “Back to the Future” with your own to make a nice little twist. It looks very promising.
Hey Jacky!
II read your review of the film, and it looks really fun. I would have to watch it one day. But overall, I think it’s cool that you’re lost. I’ve also been lost, so I’m talking about changing my script, too.
Your story is relatable to many individuals and the objective should be learning not to squander our opportunities when they present themselves the circumstances might vary from one individual to another but the objective should still stand which taking our chances as they might not come tomorrow
Hey Jacky, thanks for sharing. I really like your plot summary so far. The first part of the your plot made me think of the old movie “Back to the Future” where a teenager manages to travel back in time. I also like your ideas about adding thrilling/ horror theme to your film. I also have an idea that let all this be the boy’s fantasy. Because he is too stressed and develops psychosis.
