This magazine short, written for Cosmopolitan, is all about Nick Jonas and his new public face. The short begins by referencing an interview with Rolling Stone where Nick speaks about his comeback and all about Taylor Swift’s 25th birthday party which was filled with A list celebrities such as Jay-z and Beyonce. This shows the reader just how important Nick has become once again and how strikingly different this tequila filled bash is to his ‘squeaky clean’ Disney image.
The short continues about how Nick has furthered his gay audience by performing at gay clubs and acting as a gay MMA fighter on Kingdom. Once again, we see Nick in a new light, breaking out of the Disney fan club and embracing fans he hasn’t before.
Lastly, the short describes a question and answer session where Nick admits to smoking pot during his disney days (although it wasn’t with other disney costars) and admits guilt over keeping girlfriends a secret while most of his Jonas Brothers fans were girls. The audience can once again make a huge comparison between the old secretive Nick and the new open one. The author does a great job of portraying that with this short.

Next, I think your description has a lot of strong parts in it. I like that you identify the goal as showing how Jonas is excelling at reinventing himself. I also like that you recognize that connecting him to the Swift Bday bash is part of that strategy, and you call attention to the use of the interview. I think though that your post often slides into describing more of the object in the article (Jonas) rather than the article itself. You’re not completely doing it, and I think it’s a matter of presentation rather than your thinking.
