Gender Pay Gap
Hello Everyone! My name is Ravena Seonarine and I am a female. I am soon to graduate and I dislike the gender pay gap. As a woman, I feel I shouldn’t go through this in this day or time. The gender pay gap should have long vanished but unfortunately it still exists until today. A woman makes generally makes 80 cents for every dollar a man earns. It is very unfair and I feel this situation should be addressed. No one should be able to work for less than something who is performing the same job at the same time.
However, as time passes, the more a woman is getting for every dollar a man makes. In 2015, it was 79.6 cents according to the data from the Census Bureau that was released last year. Nonetheless, it raised about 2.8 cents more in 2016, which is about 82 cents to every dollar a man made in 2016 according to the Labor Department.
Moreover, the gender gap also exists in seven countries including the United States. The G7 countries are Canada, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the United States.

Letter to the Representative
Dear Representative,
My name is Ravena Seonarine I would like to address an issue that would benefit women. For the longest, women have been dealing with the inequality of the gender pay gap. It is unfair to women to perform the same job but is getting paid less than what they deserve. A woman shouldn’t have to feel less superior to a man or perhaps competing for a job. If a woman have the same years of experiences, degrees, and have the knowledge that fits a job description, she shouldn’t have to work as hard and get paid less than a man. Unlike, if it was a man, I am sure he wouldn’t want to be paid less. This issue makes a women feel like she’s not worth it.
I belief the government or whoever is in control should take a step and do something about this issue. Again it is unfair to all the women in the United States and especially to the young females starting their career knowing no what matter what path they take, they will not make the same salary as a man. I suggest we have equality at the work place.
Best regards,
Women
