My Baruch Experience

The day  before school began all freshmen had to come for an orientation. I thought this was going to a waste of time and nobody would even show up. After taking the train into Manhattan I came across a friend from high school. It seemed that the day was saved. Then we had to go to the lecture. We all crammed into the auditorium searching for any empty seats. Finally we found one and had to listen to what seemed like a never ending speech. We then had to go to our orientation class. That is where I met with some old and future classmates. Once again the day seemed to saved. After eating lunch and discussing the freshmen reading assignment we all went down to gym for an unexpected surprise. There were actually fun things happening. Students were shooting hoops, showing off their talents and just meeting new people. This was a sign of hope, hope that Baruch would end up being an awesome college experience. Then the main event happened. A famous hypnotist came and performed for us. He pulled out students from the audience and what I experienced was the most amazing thing ever. I absolutely loved it. It was something that I could not wait to go home and share with family and brag to my friends. That is something I will never forget and gave me hope that Baruch will be a fun time.

Google Accused of Wiretapping in Gmail Scan

Google has been accused of violating privacy laws. Google is the owner of Gmail. Gmail has been scanning peoples emails to see what kind of advertisements should be showing on their computers. Google is protesting this. This could reshape the entire Google industry. Google is saying that it was never a person looking through the emails, it was a machine, computer robot. Google is also saying that they sent out emails saying that this would be happening. In the end the ruling was that Google has violated the  Electronic Communications Privacy Act, a 1986 law and the punishments are to be determined.
