This image from the 1993 film adaptation depicts Antoinette and her new husband, Rochester in conversation.  This significance of it is that it can lead us to assume  Rochester may have married Antoinette because of her status as a white, European woman living in Jamaica. The apparent looks of conflict on both of their faces can be treated as a foreshadowing of things to come.

This picture portrays two sides of people in the novel as the people in the back are slaves and the woman in the middle enjoying her time is Annette. Clearly, this displays how the slaves were so much different from Annette and others. They didn’t have much to wear and were always working which alludes to construction of slavery in the novel.
