20 Day Stranger App

20 Day Stranger is an app that was created to share 20 Days with a complete anonymous stranger through pictures and words on your mobile phone. One can think of it as an anonymous snap chat friend. How much success do you think and app like this would get? In this era people have become so open with sharing their everyday lives with complete strangers. While others only participate in very minimal public social media platforms. Do you think an app of this sort could cause a lot of issues with people using its purpose the incorrect way? Some may say this app is too “creepy” while others may say it’s an ingenious idea that will expand your horizons within the realm of people you know and connect with. You can watch the promotion video for the app here and sign up to participate in this experiment here.

We already share a lot of information to the strangers knowingly and unknowingly. Doing it for another 20 days probably would be a fun idea to explore. As I have realized, people these days are very open to sharing their lives with the others. However, there’s a possibility that some people would use it in a wrong way.

I think this app was a creative idea for people who are very open with their lives and like sharing everything with the world. It is very creepy though cause you never know what kind of strangers you will meet.

Woah! I think that this is creepy personally, but I’m also a crabby New Yorker who doesn’t like to share that much about myself. But there is a demographic of people who love to share, ‘selfitis’ is a new psychological disorder recently added to the American Psychological Association that describes people in different stages based on how often they take a selfie and share it. So there are people out there who would probably like this App, and they most likely won’t find it creepy if they know what they’re getting into.

I’m not that social to begin with so in my opinion, this app is both useful yet creepy at the same time. It’s useful because you may never know if this stranger could help you or offer information that can “come in handy” later on yet It’s creepy because you don’t know what this stranger is like.
