My mother’s smart phone recently broke down and she is temporarily using an old flip phone until the new Galaxy S5 is released. Seeing my mother bring out the flip phone, brought back memories where I thought the flip phone was the coolest and one of the most advance technologies out there next to having a computer.
After reading this article on the Bluetooth Ring from Mashable.com, it surprises me to see how easy technology makes our lives easier. From the Google Glasses to the Samsung Watch and now the Bluetooth Ring, which is actually the Logbar’s Ring device. It looks like an average silver ring, but inside the device are electronics that allow it to recognize your finger gestures and control any number of devices. By recognizing finger gestures, Ring allows the person to write text messages by simply drawing in the air.
Although I think the Ring is unique and wearable, I would like to know if this ring can be incorporated into our lifestyles or will it be a luxury item like the Google Glasses? http://http://mashable.com/2014/03/03/bluetooth-ring/
That sounds like a pretty cool device that I myself would not mind owning one day. It seems very high tech for today’s lifestyle, but as we know from the simple flip phones to Android and Apple devices, technology is growing and changing in a very fast pace. I wouldn’t see this device as a necessity, but it would definitely be a luxury to have on top of every other up to date technology that may be out. I really wonder of how advanced our world would be ten years from now.
I feel like the blue tooth ring is more of a luxury than a necessity for our everyday lives. As technology advances it seems that it’s allowing us to become more lazy in terms of doing tasks such as texting. In addition to that, how awkward would you look if you were drawing in the air in public? Some of these new advancements in technology seem to be allowing us to be more disconnected from doing the actual task. Doing things such as texting or making a phone call have become less personal now that companies are making it “easier” for us to do so such as writing the texts through hand gestures in the air.
I agree with your idea that how east technology makes our lives easier. Since people start to use smart phone, most people do a lot of things through their phone such as shopping, reading some paper, and business. It is because smart phone makes people to connect the internet anywhere. Also screen is bigger than before so that people easily can see what they are doing.
I definitely think companies such as Apple and Samsung can profit on such devices but obviously there not going to use this companies prototype their going to make there own sleeker faster more compatible version for their own company.
