Sappho, an archaic Greek poet from the island of Lesbos, is best known for her lyric poems poem about love and women. Basically her poem 26 is a powerful story focused on the main character’s disappointment toward people she loved or cared about. Furthermore, based on the fragment in the text we are not able to know how hurt she is and what exactly they did to her. Nevertheless, it is easy to recognize somehow her frustration for being too nice and not being treated ethically, which explain her bad mood in the poem. Obviously it appears some fragments that make it difficult to know what she learned from her experience and this feeling of regret.  Finally, our understanding of the poem is the main character’s unhappiness.
