One thought on “Problem Memo – Wealth and Income Inequality in America.

  1. I enjoyed reading this memo, as income inequality has been a widely discussed subject, especially since the crash of 2008. I think it was smart to open the policy memo with stating that when it comes to income inequality, the US has the widest disparity in the world.

The evidence I found most convincing is the Walton family fortune. Learning that the wealth of SIX individual is as big as the lowest HUNDRED MILLION Americans really painted a great picture of income disparity. Another strong argument is that in 1982 Us only had 13 billionaires, while last year over 100 did not even make the list of Forbes’s Fortune 400.

The argument I would like to read more on is the issue of health, related to income inequality. Longer life span of the upper 10 percent compared to bottom ten percent was very interesting, and puts access to wealth into a context of life span.
I think this is a strong perspective.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the memo.
