Close Reading Strategies & Posts

So I had wanted to discuss the close reading strategies in class before you did the readings for Thursday, but we were still recovering from doing all the beginning of class details.

Here is the Strategies for Close Reading handout. (You can also find it under “Extras”/”On Writing”).  You should read this handout before Thursday (2/11)’s class  along with the readings listed on the syllabus.

As for the actual post, I will leave you the option:

1) You can do the post before class by reading the handout out and then try applying one of the methods to the reading.

2) You can read the handout and identify what you would want to talk about, but actually do the post by the end of the day on Thursday (2/11) at 8pm.

It’s up to you.  Either way you should read the handout.  One question on the quiz will be about the handout.
