Group C lesson plan
Our general statement is that superficial change is not actually superficial and is backed by history, social norms, and inner wants and desires. Changes for instance of someones hair like in American Born Chinese when Jin changes his hair. At first it seems he changes it based of his inner desire to have curled hair. However the longer the novel goes on it seems rather he changed it to fit in with social norms of his mainly white high schools. We will then use Kerry’s comic and Julie’s presentation to further this idea and go into how history can become a deciding factor using the success perm as an example. Lastly we will use Rhianna as a contemporary example as how her physical style and appearance and musical style has changed over time and how she may be expressing herself she also is in the public eye and has A&R people making choices for her too. We are going to have pamphlets with the comic and other information on it to give out to people.
This teaching objective is better, so that’s good. Keep flushing out the details of your lesson plan. It really should be detailed enough that you could give it to someone else and they could teach it.
