In Darren Wilson’s Grand Jury Testimony, there is a constant mentioning of Michael Brown’s appearance. His appearance is mentioned in the beginning of the testimony, through the middle, and even in the very end. As Wilson continues to describe Brown’s appearance, each one is more monstrous than the previous. Darren Wilson first mentions Brown’s appearance as “…the second one was really big…” (207). Darren Wilson is a 6’4, 210lbs police man calling someone else “really big.” With Wilson saying these words with his size, he creates a gigantic, fearsome image of Michael Brown. This is a man who has the height NBA player and the weight of a NFL player crying about an eighteen year old’s size. Further along, Wilson describes how he felt when he held Brown as “…a five year old holding onto Hulk Hogan…” (212). Hulk Hogan is a well-established wrestler known for his powerful and monstrous attacks. Comparing Michael Brown to Hulk Hogan once again creates a terrifying image of Michael Brown. At this point, not only are you seeing Michael Brown as a monster who is bigger than a NBA and NFL player combined, but is at the very least as strong as a top tier wrestler. Sadly, the petrifying images of Michael Brown do not end here. After Wilson had attempted to fire bullets into Michael Brown, he tops it all off by saying Brown’s face “…looks like a demon…” (225). Now, Wilson had used imagery again to correlate demons such as Lucifer, Beelzebub and everything else that can represent Hell to the eighteen years old, Michael Brown. From the very beginning to the very end, Wilson used imagery to constantly mention Michael Brown’s appearance. Starting with the very first ludicrous descriptions, they only got worse, to the point where we no longer had a teenager, or a human, but a demons straight from Hell.
