CR #2 Frankenstein

“Sometimes I have endeavored to discover what quality it is that he possesses that elevates him so immeasurably above any other person I ever knew. I believe it to be an intuitive discernment, a quick but never-failing power of judgment, a penetration in the causes of things, unequalled for clearness and precision; add to this a facility of expression and a voice whose varied intonations are soul-subduing music.”

The tone of this quote is amazingly rich and lustful. He seems to be not only envious of the Doctor’s intelligence, charm, and ability to capture the attention of others but to also worship him in away. He uses the word “possesses”, as if the Doctor has obtained something magical that no one else has the ability to grasp. As well as his use of “penetration” an incredibly sexual yet masculine word alluding to his connections of power, masculinity, and intelligence. The physicality of the Doctor is spoken of in a intense tone of respect and awe, the Doctors voice alone brings his soul music along with his facial appearance.
