Practice Blog

I’ve never been into the idea of writing a blog. I mean I do have a bloggers account with google but I only ever posted things I found interesting that I wanted to remember, for instance, arts and crafts how-tos and patterns. And that was years ago. However, I really enjoy writing creatively, as some of you have all ready found out through last weeks exercise. I look forward to writing more blogs for English; hopefully it’ll something I’m motivated to write about.

One Response to Practice Blog

  1. Thank you for posting, Daphnelly! You make some very important points in your post: first is the the idea of “over-posting” ~ as in bloggers who (seem to) write *all* the time, about nearly every facet of their topic or primary theme. Most of us have been on blogs at one time or another, and doing so, can sometimes be like diving down Alice’s proverbial Rabbit Hole ~ or the *very* deep end of the pool…without a snorkel. Yes, in our “open-access-24/7-via-the-internet-age,” there is indeed such a thing as over-sharing. So you seem to approach blogging with a good gut instinct: blog about subjects that truly interest you ~ subjects you are interested in cracking open like an egg, rather than simply jumping on board because you feel obliged to do so. That said, you have opened up an important topic for discussion with this very post: blogging about something one is “motivated to write about.” (and you just did that!) True, there will be times when I jump-start a post about a given day’s readings, or about a bodies-related exhibition I attended and my response to it…and so forth. Folks who want to comment in response ~ please do so. If it is topic that you don’t like, don’t worry about commenting. You are also free (as you just did above) to start your own post about a bodies-related, and/or writing-related topic that *is* of interest to you ~ and invite us to *your* table for a sit-down. Important observations ~ thank you!
