Trial to McGraw Hill eBook Library

We have a trial to McGraw Hill eBook Library until October 31, 2012, on campus only.

McGraw Hill ebooks are not available on other platforms. McGraw Hill offers both a subscription and a purchase model, including subject collections. A list of all titles and titles per collection can be found under “For Librarians”.

I would appreciate any feedback you may have.

New Name and Look for Business and Company Resource Center

This month, Gale switched all customers of Business & Company Resource Center over to the new platform, Business Insights: Essentials. If you go to the Databases page now, you’ll see that the listing there for Business & Company Resource Center has a note indicating the name change. There is also now a separate listing for Business Insights: Essentials. We’ll keep this dual listing for the rest of the year to help users who are accustomed to the former name transition to the new one.

If you have added Business & Company Resource Center to a LibGuide, you’ll want to delete the link and use the new link to Business Insights: Essentials that I’ve added to the LibGuides–Reusable Links page. Instructions for how to reuse an existing link in LibGuides are available here.

Database Descriptions in EBSCOhost Platform Obscured

When we go into Academic Search Complete or any other database we have on the EBSCOhost platform and click the “Choose Databases” link to bring up the window listing all the databases, we are unable to see the database descriptions that are linked to from each database in that “Choose Databases” window. For the databases on the right column, you can see half of the description window for any given database; for any on the right, the descriptions seem to be completely obscured.

Here’s an annotated screenshot that may better explain the problem:

I’ve reported this issue to EBSCO support and hope it will get resolved soon.
