When Emerald Is Not Accessible

If you’re unable to access a journal in Emerald that you’re sure we should have access to, here is a trick that might fix things. Click the “Reset Authentication” button in the header of the page and access may be restored.

Fix for Off Campus Access Problems with Emerald

With the launch of the new interface and URL for Emerald, a number of libraries are reporting problems with remote access. I just used the recommended fix that Emerald has been suggesting and found that it works:

  1. Close all your open tabs in your browser, then open up a fresh one
  2. Delete the cookies from your preferred browser
  3. Try to connect again to Emerald

Preview the Beta of New Interface for Emerald Insight

The journal platform, Emerald Insight, is getting a major redesign scheduled to launch this July. If you’d like to look at the beta, which has only basic functionality and is not something that is ready for our researchers yet, you can see it at https://beta.emerald.com/insight. There is a link at the top of the beta site where you send feedback to the developers.

Emerald to experience downtime

Per Emerald:

In preparation for forthcoming changes to the Emerald website, we will be undertaking essential site maintenance over the next few days, from 19 June, which will result in a period of down time. A message will be displayed on the website during this period. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. We will make every effort to keep down time to a minimum and will seek to reinstate the website at the earliest opportunity.
