King Lear

The analysis of the character, King Lear was presented in a creative and unique manner. In the video, the author uses drawings and quotes to illustrate different scenes in the play. Those scenes support her thesis. She states that the character, King Lear, has four different personalities. The four personalities being laziness, superficiality, stubbornness, and eventually caring. Her method of presenting her analysis allows the viewer to get a understanding of the story without having to actually read the book. The illustrations are detailed allowing the viewer to be able to see the scenes and understand the sequence of events that took place. The designs are colorful and funny. The reason I chose this video was because that caught my attention. The clever illustrations intrigued me allowing me to stay focused throughout the video. The emotions and actions of the characters are drawn well. This allows the expressions of the characters to be clearly presented during the key points of the scenes. It gives the viewer a better understand of how each character is perceived and the tone of the text she included. Using the text along side the illustrations gave her analysis more depth. The quotes that she has chosen support her statement while also making the story easy to comprehend. She includes colored and larger font to distinguish important lines and emphasizes those ideas. She also includes her own narration in the background. Her narration gave background information to each scene while also provided her reasoning behind her choices. She goes into further detail of each scene and how it relates to her thesis. Overall, the author’s use of drawings is appealing to the audience and makes the information easy to understand. The narration and quotes were important pieces of evidence that she used to help support her analysis of the character, King Lear.
