New York City Fast Food Industry Pays Low Wages

 

 

In a well developed city like New York, we still see people with jobs but are unable to pay their bills. Those people are the fast-food restaurant workers. Most of the workers receive minimum wage that is too low to sustain their living. Another issue the workers are facing is wage theft. Many reported that they were not paid for the overtime, and such practice was not uncommon among other big fast-food restaurants like KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. The statistic shows that the fast-food industry has grown by 55 percent since 1999, but the wage for the fast-food restaurant workers ? It has remained low.
