Masked gunman charged into a crowded mall in Kenya on Sept. 21, 2013 and open fired on people, killing more than 39 people and wounding at least 150. Bodies were strewn across the mall and dozens of people were hiding behind plastic mannequins or in air vents.Some were also cowering on the floor.
There were two squads of gunmen who were part of the Shabab, an Islamist militant group based in Somalia, that attacked. These attackers used AK-47s, G-3 assault rifles and grenades. “The worry now, current and former American officials said Saturday, is that this attack could be the start of a comeback.”
