- Parrott writes about metacognition and the idea that writers aren’t necessarily prolific and definitely aren’t just lucky or naturally gifted, but are instead persistent. How would you define and describe persistence in this course and in your writing experiences? Do you consider yourself a writer?
SO, in regards to this course, those who are more persistent are destined to perform better. Since our essays can have multiple drafts to them, those who take advantage of that and write consistently would naturally do better. I find that in my writing experiences, I am far from persistent. I do the work how I see fit and only make changes when necessary (as directed by my teacher) so I would have to say I am not a writer by any means. My writing skills are simply lacking and that’s that. i hope to change that next semester by putting more attention to my writing, however.
