There is no MLS (multi-listing service) or one consolidated source, making Brooklyn the Wild West of real estate. You’ve got to be an aggressive cowboy to navigate this market! And you’ve got to be willing to WASTE A LOT OF TIME unless you have a competent broker serving your best interests. *When I say a website is a ‘good resource for Brooklyn commercial real estate listings’ I mean that you will find many listings here. Unfortunately if you do look from website to website, you may see the same space listed by multiple brokers, several listings are there for bait and switch broker tactics, and several listings are outdated. It is always a best practice to work with one broker and refer listings you may be curious about to them.

Craigslist – mostly small spaces posted by smaller local brokers with an occasional direct-to-owner listing, free service

Mr.OfficeSpace – great resource for Manhattan office space but not very strong for the Brooklyn market, but it does list major office buildings in Brooklyn, Co-star/Showcase listings are often also posted here

Property Shark – good resource for Brooklyn commercial real estate listings*, free to do a search but access to property reports requires a paid subscription

Loopnet – good resource for Brooklyn commercial real estate listings*, free to do a search but a free search does not give you access to all of the listings as a paid subscription does

Co-Star/Showcase – starting to gain a stronger presence in Brooklyn, as it is relied upon as the Manhattan MLS for office space and retail listings with complete market transparency, but they just aren’t here yet in Brooklyn – expensive subscription for listings that don’t appear in a free search
